Anniversary Statue

Seeing the Arsenal statue made me think - we've got a few years till our next meaningful anniversary, however, if you were commissioning the statue now, what would it be?

Assuming we can't reproduce the moment Sheikh Mansour signed the paperwork, mine would be Dickov's slide at Wembley. Possibly typical City to celebrate something that wasn't a real trophy, but I think it's the most important event in our recent history, possibly our entire history. Without it, we could still be down there.

Hopefully, by the time the statue is built, next to Dickie will be Silva holding up the CL trophy, but what would it be today?

The goat being fed?:P

In all seriousness probably some kind of motive of the legendary team/selected players from the seventies when we last were great?

In recent years the Dickov slide is highly memorable. That's a great shout. As a relatively young man (26) that's the moment that stands out for me personally more than any other.

That's my main memory and I'm 39.

Well that and Yaya's slide against the rags at Wembley

As vital as it was at the time Dickov was very average for us, his goalscoring record was pretty shit as well. Might as we go for Benjani for his goal at the swamps anniversary party. Goater is a better shout of the more recent players as he did thing consistently for us which is what a legend desrving a statue is not a one off no matter how important 1 (one) goal maybe ... imo

It would be a statue of the moment rather than the player. There are lots of other players who be in front but not many defining moments.

Know you were joking about banji but that was just a moral victory. The game at Wembley could have completely altered our future if it had been lost.

Bert holding his neck from that famous picture would be a good statue. A famous and instantly recognisable moment in our history.

Probably in years to come, I'd like to see a statue of Mario with with the ball on his left shoulder.

Weaver in the Play Off Final.

Bobby Manc with the Premier League Trophy

I'd like to see statues of Wilf Wild and Malcolm Allison.
