Mancini fury as Balotelli hits Manchester nightlife ahead of Chelsea clash

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli faces the wrath of manager Roberto Mancini after preparing for Monday night's crucial game at Chelsea with a late night out that ended in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Italian striker Balotelli is in the City squad for what is arguably their biggest game of the Barclays Premier League season at Stamford Bridge.
But Sportsmail understands that Balotelli was out until at least 12.45am in Manchester city centre after a Saturday night out with friends.

Hot water: News of Balotelli's night out has angered Mancini

City yesterday declined to comment on the alleged incident, but did confirm that first-team players are not expected to be socialising less than 48 hours before a game.
Mancini is known to have a more relaxed attitude than some Premier League managers, but it is clear he will be unimpressed with another lapse in discipline from the controversial Balotelli.
The 21-year-old was not thought to have been drinking alcohol in the Zouk Bar and Restaurant but was described by one eye witness as behaving 'boisterously' with a group of friends.
City had their last training session before the clash in west London on Sunday morning, meaning Balotelli will not have had a full night's sleep beforehand.
Sources at the Etihad Stadium told Sportsmail that Mancini does not have a problem with players enjoying a mid-evening meal out in the run-up to a game.

Uneasy: Mancini hangs back from his groups of players - including Balotelli - as the teams heads to London

However, it was also made clear that the City boss will view a night out that ends in the early hours as a step too far.
Mancini has gone to extraordinary lengths to accommodate Balotelli during the young centre forward's season-and-a-half in England.
And there have been times recently when the former Inter player appeared to be listening. But this latest episode underlines that Balotelli still refuses
to take some things on board.

Well IF it's true, he'll probably end up playing less games than planned over Christmas, whilst Bob puts him in the naughty corner again.

We are playing Chelsea followed by Arsenal in the next two games though, & Spurs have just lost, so just because Ladyman is a NW reporter & hasn't stitched us for a while, doesn't mean he won't be tempted; he knows where his bread is buttered.

It's a story if it's true (albeit not a huge one) because if one player is allowed to get away with breaking a curfew at a club, even without drinking, the next thing which happens is the British/Irish potential piss head crew show them how it's done. The rules have to be observed strictly becaue of the Mike Summerbee/ Richard Dunne type characters who will abuse it otherwise.

I say we fuck him off..I can forgive the darts..the prisons..the fireworks..the non goal celebrations..the camel wink..the parking fines..the shagging of B List big brother stars..the wodge carrying

But staying up past midnight having a laugh with his friends?

And not even having a drink?

Fuck Off Out Of My Club!

I agree that it's obviously being made into more than it is.

Having said that, I think might be a bit more serious than some are making it out to be. If Mancini has set a curfew for the team, then it seems the players should respect it. No one should get special treatment.

ok then.

I see that the bit about Mancini fury is completely made up. Ladyman speculates in the article that Mancini might possibly get angry, but otherwise concludes that this is a big deal.

This is great. The depths that munichs will stoop to. You've got the biggest football club in the known universe (c) and their fans are forced to write articles in the press to try and destabilise little City before every big game because they are simply not as good as us on the field.

And what's more - it is not working. Wonderful.

Does anyone else think that all these articles do is motivate our team that little bit more?

I think Roberto wants to remove the dilemma of who to pick. Knowing that he must start Edin tomorrow, rather than have Terry and the other Chelsea decrepids kick Mario into him getting a Red card for asking the ref "Why always me?"

So he tells everybody in the squad that Mario is going out again just before Xmas distributing a bit of cash and some pre Xmas cheer. Therefore he will be a bit tired and will only come on as a sub in the 70th minute and score two goals.

If he gives them the ammunition, they will use it. There's no point in complaining if someone reports what he's actually doing. If they've made it up, and the rule doesn't apply, then we have a complaint, otherwise the ball is in Mario's court.

Article tries to spice it up by calling it Zouk BAR and restaurant - it is actually called Zouk TEA BAR and grill. Advertised closure is at midnight so I'm sure he was back in his very nearby hotel shortly after being spotted. Amazing what a tiny bit of research can tell you, shame the Daily Malignant cannot manage such a thing...
