So much has changed in the past 2 years.

Mancini is a quality manager and I hope he stays for a long time.

Mancini will not keep his job without winning things consistently, so I hope he stays for a long time too.

I was thinking this morning that come Feb we could be in another cup final.....crazy times. I always thought that I might see City have the better of United consistently but thought it would be due to them hitting a slump rather than our sheer quality. I still can't quite believe it.

I never remotely thought we'd lose once we'd kicked off last night. A draw was potentially possible but even that seemed unlikely. It's still quite surreal feeling like that watching us play

In terms of Mancini I am very glad we have him. I was far from convinced at points last season but am delighted to be proven very wrong

2 years eh?

Fuck me it wasn't too long ago when we measured manager's tenure's as manager's per season, how times have pleasantly changed!

And it coincides with us going a full 12 months unbeaten at home = Fortress Etihad.
If they avoid defeat against the Gunners, Roberto Mancini's team will have gone a full calendar year unbeaten on home turf. Some 27 games have been played since Everton won 2-1 at City last December - with City winning an incredible 25 of them. Only Fulham and Napoli have got themselves a draw.

Make that 26 wins out of 28 games.

I think he's doing a fantastic job job at present & it's exactly the kind of football I want to see. He could build something very special if allowed to.

I hope we win the title this season because that then gives him a bit of leeway to carry on building a side for the Champion's Lg. He's never proved himself at that level & may need a few attempts to get it right. We've seen what a mess has been made of Chelsea by Abramovic getting an itchy trigger finger. Winning the league would give Bob the extra bit of strength in his position, to resist a challenge for his job from the 'special one' or any similar character.

I personally don't give a flying shit about the CL so long as we keep competing in the Prem (& win a few). It's of secondary importance to me but owners & players seem to get carried away with it. That's likely to be Bob's main danger in the coming years I think, but if we miss the title, the pressure suddenly gets ramped up.

I don't cry for him but I thought his sacking was wrong & he's helped build this team. Try making a back 4 out of Bob's signings for instance.

Why ? Don't you also think Mancini is doing a fantastic job & want to compliment him on it ?

Try making one out of Leslie's! You'd have Bridge at left back and I don't care what the rest looks like, that's shit.

I despise Leslie, however, some of my favourite players were his signings (Kompany, de Jong and Zab). He therefore deserves some of the credit, however, I doubt he could have won anything with his team.

If we avoid defeat against Stoke we'll have been unbeaten at home throughout 2011. Having watched Pearce's side at the same ground not very long ago, that's incredible. Not sure why I still worry when going to a match as statistically I should expect nothing but a win but maybe I'll be calmer by the end of 2012.

Grazie Bob.

I think he's doing a much better job than Hughes would have done but if people bring him up, they can sometimes get a reply.

Wasn't Stoke Macini's first game in charge (2 years ago) ?

. . . on the contrary - it proves the value of the ichy trigger finger - keep on firing until you get the right manager

Eh ? If Mourinho was still there they'd be our biggest challengers now & probably would have several more titles & maybe a Champion's League trophy imo. Bob is on course to be our Mourinho, & if he produces the goods in the Prem, imo, he should be left to get on with it, no matter how long it takes to win the Chump's Lg.

I was never a Mancini licker, nor a Leslie one either but I was ashamed of the club on how they handled that ... Mancini has deffo won me round after a shakey start ... "tis management", in fact he seemed to have won quite a few this season, long live the King
