Dutch Cup insanity - Ajax v AZ

Postby Avalon » Wed Dec 21, 2011 10:24 pm

Soooo... this just happened in the Dutch cup between Ajax and AZ.

A guy runs on the patch and attacks the goalie, who then retaliates and fucks him up. The ref then decides to give the goalie of AZ a red card and the manager of AZ decides to take his entire team off the pitch and withdraws from the match. Legendary stuff.

Kudos to the goalkeeper and the AZ manager. The ref... wow. Somebody please sack him.

The same thing happend in the Romanian league a month ago.

And again the ref sent off the keeper and the defender that attacked the hooligan. I think this is a rule, they aren't allowed to do that. Stupid decision, imho.

Yeah, bit crazy. It was a drunk 19 year old who stated he hated the goalkeeper.

What I find absolutely stunning is that everybody (officials) are saying that the showing of the red card was the only right thing to do for the referee because it is stated in the rules. That's just crazy.

Great what the AZ coach did, he, Verbeek is one who always in debate with the dutch FA and tonight shows that you just have to stand up against ridiculus rules.

My Dutch friends said that the commentator was siding with the goalie, because it was self defence and it would make no sense for a goalkeeper to do nothing and get beaten up. If that truly is a rule, that is just ridiculous... shocking

Yeah everyone agrees the keeper did nothing wrong (what if the guy carried a knife), but nobody blames the referee because 'rules are rules'. That's what ref said to Ajax coach as well, who replied: was that sending off really needed.

All in All, the sentiment goed towards the goalie (as it should be). Ajax did want to finish the game, but made no objection.

Maybe the keeper should have sat the offender down and talked to him nicely instead of being "aggressive" and "violent" or perhaps let the offender kicked the shit out of him till proper "authority" had arrived.

Thing it is apt that you've got 'Horlock's Aggressive Walk' on your profile Avalon, lol I've got no problem with players knocking people out if they invade the pitch. Remember when Ian Walker punched someone who ran on the pitch when they were getting thrashed 5 nil at home

The camera cuts to him as he's kicking the fan while he's on the ground. He's going to get sent off for that no matter what the provocation because it can be seen as excessive and likely to incite the opposition's fans.

Incite them into what ? Running on the pitch and attacking him ? Oh wait a minute..

If you fuck with people on their turf, in any walk of life, you're fair game imo; no right to whinge about it. I remember Keith Richards banjoing some cunt with his Telecaster in front of thousands, & his reason; " how the fuck do I know what he's going to do, he could have a knife ? " Remember Monica Seles ?

Why should the keeper risk the twat getting up & causing him damage ? He's entitled to do whatever it takes to put him right out of action imo.

The keeper dit two things wrong.

1- he should have kicked the cunt in the side of the head and teeth.
2- he stopped too soon.

This has happened before(possibly several times) where a player has done something to a streaker or a guy on the pitch and then got sent off, i thought it was common knowledge that it was a sending off. however, i do agree with what was said above, he is fair game to do anything to him that he wants and its alright in my book, its like if someone breaks into your house and you catch them, you can burn them to death and its ok in my book.

CARL i like the analogy i wonder will the people who disagreed OT change there tune?
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No sympathy for the fan at all and I hope he is very harshly dealt with by the authorities. He might just say he is a muslim though so isnt used to drinking and be let off!

Keeper was OTT though.Once the guy had gone past and hit the deck there was no apparent need to wade in like he did.

I think we need to ask ourselves "what would Mario do" in such a situation

Thats easy...he'd run down the pitch and try to stop the keeper kicking the cunt then HE would get sent off. Just because he's Mario.
