Is Demba Ba the new Didier Drogba?

Just watching a rerun of the Newcastle-West Brom game and, yet again, Demba Ba looks like an absolute handful. He's useful with both feet, in the air and both inside and outside of the box. He's now scored 20 Premier League goals in 28 games in 2011.
Just how good is this guy? I know he's 26 but so was Drogba when he got his move to Chelsea. Great buy for Newcastle but I wonder if Ashley would be able to resist a big money offer from one of the top six. He'd be absolutely perfect for Arsenal.
One thing's for sure: Ba>>>>Carroll. Hats off to Pardew.

Can't believe West Ham had a clause in his contract that let him go for free if they were relegated. He's a quality player

Really? I had it in my head that Newcastle had paid a fee of about 5-7 million quid. Cracking business either way, and especially so if you're right.

Qiality player. What a signing for Newcastle. Pulis must be spewing.
Had him in my fantasy team all season and very appreciative of his efforts.

He's definitely a quality player. One of the signings of the season for me.

Great forward player. Has everything a good striker needs. On of the best signings.

I like him too, but still i can't forget that a lot of doctors said his legs are a ticking bomb.

He was cleared by both the West Ham and Newcastle medical teams. It's only the Stoke Doctor that has found issue with him.

Me too. He's a likeable character. Plays with a smile on his face and gets on with his job without any Suarez-style histrionics.
I like how Newcastle are building a proper team whilst Sunderland go on spaffing their wad on has-beens and nobodies.
This Newcastle-WBA game is a cracker, by the way, for anyone who might want to check out the highlights.

Maybe at that moment he had some problems, who knows. If i recall, when he came in Premier he was absent a while from Hoffenhein's training and without any game fitness and beeing basically a couch potatoe for over a month then, they made this decision not to sign him and thought he had problems. Who knows.
For me he is a lot like Shabani Nonda, if you remember him. (the Monaco version, not the Rovers).

Not that likeable. He pulled a Tevez in Germany.
On the pitch though, this is the guy I remember from his first Bundesliga season, maybe even better. He lost his way (head) for a little while, but hats off to him for adapting so quick & so well to the Prem.

I remember him having some kind of dispute with Hoffenheim, but I'd never seen him play before he arrived in England. I'm only going off what I've seen of him here.
I have a bit more sympathy for him than for Tevez anyway. Tevez was at the top of his profession when he decided to start acting like a bell, whereas that might have been Ba's one and only chance to get a move to the Premier League.
