I gave up after the first four minutes of the Ivory Coast game. Absolute dross. The 14 year olds I coach are more organised FFS!

Yeah I thought a couple of his stomach muscles looked a bit bigger than the many clearly defined others when he came off the pitch.

well, also gutted about yesterday's result, but guess it's good ivory coast will be playing algeria, who some have pegged as favourites, i believe.

next issue could be if they get to the semis as they'd have to play a 3rd place match, no?

Guinea went through in the drawing of Lots

One representative from Guinea and Mali took part in Thursday's draw, which involved selecting balls from a bowl.
Mali's football association president Boubacar Diarra went first and pulled out the ball that placed them third in the group.
Amara Dabo, financial director of the Guinea sports ministry, then drew the ball that confirmed his side in second place.

Ivory Coast have got Algeria on Sunday. That's the second seed v first seed. Unless IC can transform their football you would expect them to be going out. Hopefully Bony and Yaya will be coming home shortly after that?

Yes that's right. If they win the game against Algeria then Yaya misses the home game v Hull and the midweek game away at Stoke.

Mmm. I thought this tournament lacked a bit of quality at times. It certainly lacks integrity.

I've only allowed myself to watch odd snippets of some of the games and that has been akin to having some teeth extracted, without an anaesthetic.

Anyone who has endured longer than that has my unfounded respect....either that, or they have some form of masochistic gratification which needs addressing urgently.

All joking aside though, the football I've seen has been unbelievably indigestible.

Tee he he. It's the refereeing that was unbelievable tonight. The tournament has no credibility after tonight regardless of the quality of the football.
