Tevez - Sneijder swap?

Wesley Sneijder is again set to be dangled by Inter Milan as bait in their bid to land Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.
The Holland midfielder, expected to be a top United target in the summer, is the Italian club’s trump card as they seek to win a race between five clubs for the signature of Tevez.
But City are likely to insist on a cash deal, and Inter’s expected £21million bid – with the first instalment coming in June – would put them in the driving seat, ahead of Serie A rivals AC Milan and Juventus, plus Paris St Germain and Corinthians.
Inter are hoping to open formal talks with City today, and are prepared to resurrect a deal which was proffered in the summer, when a Tevez-Sneijder swap was also mooted, as exclusively revealed by M.E.N. Sport.
That possible deal was killed, according to Tevez’ s adviser Kia Joorabchian, by the Blues’ move for Samir Nasri, with City no longer needing any more attacking midfielders.
Manager Roberto Mancini also wanted Roma star Daniele de Rossi, only to be told there would be no more spending – and he had to make do with the free signing of Owen Hargreaves.
But Hargreaves, troubled by injuries, has only played 13 minutes of Premier League football for City, as well as two Carling Cup ties.
He is expected to be in the squad for Sunday’s FA Cup derby, but Mancini will urge the Blues to quickly conclude a quick sale of Tevez – and then spend the proceeds on de Rossi.
The Blues have already started unloading players from the wage bill after the £400,000 sale of left back Kieran Trippier to Burnley, following a successful loan spell.
Trippier may be joined soon by fellow 2008 FA Youth Cup winner Ben Mee, who has also impressed Burnley boss Eddie Howe.

I think the deal would benefit all parties. Tevez is estranged at City now, but Sneijder is the shadow of himself at Inter too, because he wants out. Inter would get the striker they want, and we would get another creative midfielder to provide us the spark when going forward. Not that we lack it, but imagine a line up with Silva, Sneijder and Nasri (if he goes back to the form he was at the start of the season) behind Aguero/Balotelli/Dzeko...that would seriously test even the tightest parked bus, lol.

I think De Rossi is the bloke Bob wants.
As Roger Waters once said : ' What Bob wants, Bob gets' or something.

This may sound strange but I wouldn't want to see him at this time. A top, top player but I wouldn't want to bring him in and upset the flow of the team at this point.

Well Bob is insisting his flair players 'put a shift in' when we lose the ball. Would Wesley be willing to do that ?

Square peg, round hole at this point.
Let's just take the cash and buy who we want.

Which leads us to the next question, would Sneijder warm up?

Actually puts a lot of effort in for the team does Sneijder, especially for a 'flair player'. Know the area he grew up in (Nooly will probs have heard of Ondiep too, living in Utreg and all and probs not all good tbh) and I really really used to hate him as an ajax player, even more so cos he is from Utrecht and saw him as a bit of a traitor, but it seems deep down he still has got the work ethic and knows where he comes from (this may have to do with footage of him and his little brother, who now plays for Utrecht, appearing singing and dancing after Utrecht beat Ajax 6-4 earlier on this season I must admit). Sign him up I say!

Sorry for laughing Fidel but that "...and knows where he's from" quote made me chuckle....I remember picking a pisshead up from Chorlton who wasn't quite so sure...hahahahahahahahaha.

I live a stone throw from Ondiep. It's not that bad to be honest. A bit lowbrow and very much working class, but not bad.

Ooh get her.
Tbf I've never noticed Sneijder being particularly lacking in that department but I've heard plenty of others criticise him. Seems like Kia & Tevez have decided they're going to AC anyway though.

Agreed. Just lazy journalism to sell a few papers.
