It was so blatantly the wrong decision even the commentators are on about it.

If Sky had the coverage you would had heard Tyler talking about the stellars Scum and what good decisions did Foy made.

Will Vinny not get a 4 match ban due to already being sent off?

Yes if the club doesn't appeal, I would strongly believe they will appeal though.
While the tackle technically was two footed, he won all the ball and didn't touch the man.
NEVER a straight red, Yellow at very worst.

Surely we have a strong appeal case, at most it was a harsh yellow? So that is 2yrs running the the rags have bought the ref in the FA cup, remember against the Scouse very early doors?

Mark my words, if we appeal they will rise the suspension. How many times did we win an appeal? The only good thing about it would be that he may play until the decision is made.

They "fast-track" it now, mate. Any appeal would be before the semi.
Over to you , Mr. Bernstein.

Bernstein will not stand for this. It will be overturned!

I dont think it was two footed.
Right foot won the ball cleanly. Left foot, whilst off the ground, was nowhere near man or ball.
We'll appeal, successfully.

Definitely. We should appeal this. If they want to ban tackling, let them. I didn't see it as a foul, let alone a yellow card. A red card for it is just laughable, completely ridiculous. He didn't touch Nani, got the ball, etc. Have alook on You Tube for 2-footed tackles and they are nothing like Vinnies outstanding challenge, it was a great tackle. Fucking Foy, what a cheating twat.

We must appeal this with every fibre of our beings - a total travesty. Take the fuclers to court if necessary , get the PFA in and anyone else to bat for us on this one. Simply HAS to be rescinded - no ifs, no buts

Blue Blood,
Please don't fall into the same trap as many fans, most players and pundits regarding getting the ball and not touching the man.
he Law is quite explicit and has no regard to getting the ball nor winning the tackle. The tackler does not even have to touch the player if there was intent. The decision is wholly considered by the tackle. Was it a foul? was there intent to foul? Was the tackle dangerous? They are the only considerations.
I agree that the tackle was clean, I don't think it was dangerous, Kompany's other foot was not near the player and I don't think there was any intent, other than to win the ball cleanly and fairly.
I would be happy to appeal that red card.
I would also be happy to see Foy slowly roasted over gas mark 4 and be castrated with a blunt butter knife.

I said the same thing in the match thread - when they showed the slowed down replay from behind, Vinnie's trailing leg wouldn't have touched Nani even if he hadn't jumped. It was a clean one footed tackle and Rooney bought the red.

The most annoying thing about it is that Foy wasn't even going to blow his whistle until Rooney runs over to him. Nani doesn't even say anything until after Rooney has interfered. Poor refereeing from Foy and we definitely should appeal.

It's a shame that the game wasn't on BBC - Hansen and Lawrenson would have been [strike]wanking[/strike] waxing eloquent over that tackle. Every football fan in the pub - city, Liverpool, arsenal, Spurs, QPR and even Scum applauded that as a brilliant tackle.
Is it time to declare war on the refs and the way they are ruining football by outlawing the tackle (except tackles from behind which should be automatic yellows, Mr Foy, even when perpetrated by Ryan Giggs.)?
