I thought our support today was brilliant. Many fans would have turned on their team of just given up at half-time but we remained loud and proud and stayed till the end.

Still had people near me leaving with 5-10 mins to go. I just don't get it.

Loved that chant, says so much about us and why we are different to them. Felt a bit like the old days.

May i add, when the final whistle was blown, the whole stadium gave a stand up ovation to our lads. In contrast, remember the semi final and the 6-1 game and the reaction that scum fans had? Well have a look at their "fans".

Yep. Not even 2 minutes since the final whistle.

In honesty that game was finished when we scored our 2nd...and the rags were finished before the kick off.

You must understand however that those rags were not deserting their team, they had to leave as their flights to Singapore and their trains to Landan were about to leave.

I was in 308 to. a few left at half time but between 70 and 90 minutes i clocked 3 people leaving. Must be a "staying put" record!?

I joined in the "we stay 'til the end" but felt some supporters and the song was a bit hypocritical.

If it was still 3-1, would they have stayed?
If it was 3-0 would they have stayed?

We've won games 5-1, 4-1, a few 3-0 and not had that many fans at the end.

I can see why people stayed (I never leave early), it was close, it was a great performance and the lads deserved the standing ovation, it also makes us look legendary as fans, but why don't the team deserve a standing ovation after we comprehensively beat Liverpool 3-0 and were down to 10 men?

Loved singing it at the rags though.

Half left again as usual last night.

Nothing special about us anymore, turning more like all the other clubs everyday.

36,000 someone said the attendance was.

And that would have been at it's peak.

Semi Final of a cup and we're turning out 36,000. Then when we need a last minute goal to save something, and we're on the attack constantly, people streaming out.

Real shame.

Probably cause of the amount of games we've had in January. People simply cannot afford every game.

I thought this. 45 quid for an FA Cup 3rd round was expensive, even if it was against the rags.

The club should know better, and plan better for these things.

45 quid for Rags, 37 quid for Scouse. Plus travel, beers, food etc etc. In the space of 3 days.

Still, 12,000 empty seats is shit. Give em to some school kids.

The second of three cup matches this month, if we'd have won at the weekend it would have been the second of four this month. If we beat Liverpool we'll have three cup matches next month too (including one away in Portugal). I'm not too surprised people are having to choose their matches carefully.

I wasn't looking forward to it last night, as I know the club aren't 100% arsed & was expecting an iffy performance from players & fans. I'd already decided I'm not going to the final anyway & may stop going to League Cup games for good now.

I've been to every home one I possibly could since Bell Lee & Summerbee etc were in it but it was ruined by the rags & Co some years ago & now we have become one of the clubs who sees it as an inferior competition, it's completely lost its spark. I may go if we start to use kids in the team; to have a look at them in a proper game but on the whole, it's just a dismal occasion.

Attendance I’m not too fussed about, we know we have 38k average that stuck with us in div 2, that’s all I’m bothered about. Also with money issues, I can’t criticise anyone not going, tough times.

Don’t get me wrong I love where we are at now, I really do but sometimes I wish we we’re back in the shit, all seemed much more genuine then.

Thats what losing 3 of the last 4 does for the enthusiasm, and pissing two cup comps up the wall in the space of 4 days on our own ground.

Am actually glad we have 5 days before our next game as I think fans and players need the break.
