Blimey he covered some ground today! I wasn't his biggest fan when we first signed him but with performances like today he could well become one of my favourite players.
Not only did he do a very good job filling in at Right Back but he never stopped trying to win the ball and get it forward.
He pushed Sergio all the way for MotM in my opinion.

Superjaw was probably our most creative player today. Pleasing performance.

And unsurprising to see Adam Johnson once again not step up to the plate when in possession of a starting berth

And he already looked knackered in the 35th minute, staring into the ground while running back to cover space. I don't get it.

Milner is a superb player - a true professional. You can play him in any position and he'll deliver real quality and 100% effort.
AJ could learn a thing or two from him.

Milner is quite possibly my favourite ever footballer. Not in terms of ability but in terms of effort and professionalism. I remember looking at some photos of a training session last year when it was -15 or something. All the players had snoods on but not Jimmy, short sleeved shirt an shorts. Top lad. Gonna be mega important for us this month with Yaya missing.

He's really turned his game around this season (along with Barry). One of my favourite players - love the guy to bits. He's exactly the kind of player you want when you're up against it as well with his never-say-die attitude. Nasri would do well to take a leaf out of Jimmy's book regarding attitude

He came running over towards the end of the first half and he was blowing heavily, I can't understand how a professional footballer can look so unfit at times.
Going back on topic, Milner was brilliant today, another one who worked incredibly hard.

His lack of fitness is a big issue in my opinion. If he can't run around for 90 minutes then how can he expect to start games? I have not seen many players who appear as unfit as AJ - he seems to be blowing chunks 30 mins into games and when he attempts to close down opposition players he looks like he is running through treacle. Maybe his off-field activities have a part to play in this (he is rumoured to be fond of a drink or two)?

Milner has been superb this season. He should be getting more game time.
If only Nasri had Millner's desire and determination

viewtopic.php?f=119&t=40804&start=100I said in the above thread that milner may have a sinficant impact on city's season and he has clearly arrived in Bobby Mancs eyes.
I agree he had a very good game but I have to say Aguero's effort, desire and commitment was terrific and his touch caused the rags big problems and his overall performance merited the mom. The ITV panel awarded MOM to Rooney, no denying the quality of his first goal but he missed a pen and was annonymus in the 2nd half!!!!!!

As soon as he was released from being a temp RB he was immense.
Some guys around me kept saying to get him out of rightback and let him boss the midfield, didn't realise how right they were until second half.
Was actually excited about Hargreaves for Nasri sub as it would allow Milner to go further forward.
I have criticised him in past seasons, but seems to have really stepped up this season. Mancini knows he needs to be in the centre to get the best out of him.
Was clear to everyone watching the game how well he played, should have been MotM for second half performance and being versatile to cover right back for over 30 minutes.

Bobby is not noted for sentiment and I couldn't understand why Milner was stuck at right back whilst they ran through Nasri and Silva first half. AJ had already had his good 10 minutes and should have been replaced by Zabaleta straight away.
Milner is a top player, it's just fashionable to criticise big-money City signings without seeing them play too much.
