After all the trouble we went to last summer in what was the most protracted transfer of the summer I had really high hopes for him this season and the prospect of him linking up with Silva had me creaming my pants. However he has been pretty awful all season and today, in a derby, played with no passion or commitment. The lease he could have done was play with determination and work hard even if he is playing shit but he can't even do that. If Aguero's all action performance couldn't inspire him then I don't know what will. Every game I keep thinking that he'll have a good game and his performances will improve but so far he has been a massive flop and looks nowhere like the player he was at Arsenal.

Give him a season and a summer training with Bob. Milner was in the same situation.

He has shown glimpses of ability but has been poor far more often than he has been good, and his effort levels need to increase. It does look like that £25m was way too much for him though.
The comment about Ireland above though is just stupid.

I was hoping to see him move into Yaya's position since he wanted to be central at Arsenal. He had the chance today and was anonymous.
Hope it's his illness, but I suspect he's just the anonymous sort. Nothing was going right for Milner and the wing is the wrong position for him, but he never gave up. Nasri doesn't look to have any fight or heart so when he's not playing well, I'm not sure what he brings.
