Is anyone else really disappointed by his performances this season? After all the trouble we went to last summer in what was the most protracted transfer of the summer I had really high hopes for him this season and the prospect of him linking up with Silva had me creaming my pants. However he has been pretty awful all season and today, in a derby, played with no passion or commitment. The lease he could have done was play with determination and work hard even if he is playing shit but he can't even do that. If Aguero's all action performance couldn't inspire him then I don't know what will. Every game I keep thinking that he'll have a good game and his performances will improve but so far he has been a massive flop and looks nowhere like the player he was at Arsenal.

Give him a season and a summer training with Bob. Milner was in the same situation.

As much as a dick as Stephen Ireland was he would do a better job than Nasri is our side. Vastly overrated, payed around £15m too much.

I really hope you're right because I had such high hopes for him when we signed him. I don't recall Milner ever being as bad as Nasri has been though and the one thing you could never fault with Milner was his commitment, even if he wasn't playing well

Nasri has never been guilty of busting a gut imo...rarely tackles anyone and needs to be dropped.

Not sure about that. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire at Aston Villa orwhen on loan at Newcastle has he? Glad we got rid of him

This is the least he should be doing though isn't it? I understand players can't play well all the time but they can at least put the effort in

Totally different than Milner, Milner didn't lack passion or effort he just couldn't manage to pass to a blue shirt. Also Milner finally clicked in the last few games last season, so not down to the summer training. I reckon Nasri needs a major game adjustment if he is to fit in, at present he is slowing the side down too much.

Nasri is a gutless wonder

Nasri has only been with us for just over 4 months so I'm prepared to give him the full season before writing him off. However, he does need to step his game up. He has shown glimpses of ability but has been poor far more often than he has been good, and his effort levels need to increase. It does look like that £25m was way too much for him though.

The comment about Ireland above though is just stupid.

Top player..Just needs some more Mancini magic rubbing off on him like Milner and Micah...He will be fine long term i reckon.

I agree entirely Aaron, why we always seem to have to have a boo boy I really don't know. He's a quality player that we were all really pleased to have signed. Next season will be the time to judge him, though I would hope that in the second half of this season we will begin to see more of the qualities that he has.

Agreed give him a full season but I also agree I expected more. Today he seemed fairly lifeless so maybe the illness had taken a little more out of him.I just want to see him play with more confidence.We know he has talent and it will come.

I couldn't even finish reading the original post before thinking about nasri trotting around the middle of the pitch like we were 4-0 up. Then when he did get the ball (once in particular i remember) when we were counter attacking he tried to make a simple pass and messed up. Summed up his day. He does track back, but never with intention of actually sticking his foot in a tackle or winning the ball. But thats by the by, i guess we never really expected him to. BUt if his passing and dribbling isn't up to much (which it hasn't been) he (and us) are in a wee bit of bother. Would much rather see the continuous imrovement and desire of James Milner. AT THE MOMENT I'M NOT SAYING SELL NASRI!

Agree with Doug. I think we probably rushed him back after his illness due to our limited options in MF.

Have to say that i feel Nasri not starting every game ha prohibited him from really shining yet.he has still managed to contribute a very impressive tally of goals and assists.I hope the extra game time in Yayas absence brings out the best i him.

I was hoping to see him move into Yaya's position since he wanted to be central at Arsenal. He had the chance today and was anonymous.

Hope it's his illness, but I suspect he's just the anonymous sort. Nothing was going right for Milner and the wing is the wrong position for him, but he never gave up. Nasri doesn't look to have any fight or heart so when he's not playing well, I'm not sure what he brings.

Needs to grow a set and man up. Has a heart the size of a pea.

He looks like a little boy playing with men at the moment.

Not really. We didn't go into the second half with the ambition of turning it around, but with the aim to stop them from scoring more (two defensive subs). It made sense giving our biggest star a rest in a game we "couldn't win". In hindsight, with the early goals we got, one could argue that it was a bad move, but really, that was impossible to predict.
