Where are they?

Barca are the bench mark. Like them we should be bedding ours in.

Kolorov or Suarez/Assulin

You decide....

Know what you're saying but I mean no matter where he plays kolarov adds next to nothing

I would like to see these great prospects given a few mins here and there.

You must be a bit mental if you think we're anywhere near to competing to Barca in the blooding youngsters stake. Yeah - high profile semi-final game. Don't play the £17m Russian 'thing' and give a very slight 17 yr old his debut instead....it's never gonna happen. There's not a manager in the world who'd take that risk! Not even Guardiola....unless it was Thiago or Pedro. Or Cuenca. Or someone. Our kids sadly aren't at that level...

Denis Suarez and Rekik have had games this season mate... Wolves away I seem to recall being a particularly good game for some of our kids.... I'm certain Razak or Rusnak have also played on a few occasions this season. To suggest that a game away at Anfield was a good chance for them to play is a bit crazy.... look what happened to Savic!

I find it bizarre that you would compare a left back with attacking midfielders.... totally different positions and disciplines!

For years our academy was there to produce mid table players for a struggling club. Now it has to produce world class players for one of the world's top clubs. We are going through a transitional period where a lot of the recruits have been found wanting & have to be replaced. Soon,I imagine the best players will start to reach an age where one or two can get an opportunity.

Ideally we need cup games v shit teams & we haven't had that . Maybe next season.

Playing every week on loan is a better option than sitting on our bench or in the stands though. If any of the loan players prove themselves top class, they can come straight into our squad. Alternatively, if they're clearly not quite there, like Weiss, Mee & Trippier, they get the chance to build a career, so it shows that players signing with us are making the right decision as we look after their career whether we use them or not.

I think I put it wrong.

It was more of a general observation than "we should have played them at anfield"

We have absolutely annihated teams this season yet not many of our youngsters (Rekik aside) have seen any game time.

by There's only 1 city!!
main difference being is barca are a top club winning every trophy in sight, and have been doing so for years, so they can afford to throw in a couple of youngster's in as they are surrounded by world class player's in every department.

We are not at that level yet, so winning silver wear, and getting to be a top european team is our main goal for now

3-4 years time will probably be the start of them coming through, hopefully!!!!!!

Barca's young players are miles miles better than ours. We have some coming through who may be closer to that but are a bit young for the 1st team, & are recruiting more. Barca's kids also know how to play exactly like the 1st team. Ours just used to run about.

We are working on it.

If we can pull away (the rags had a tough run of away games) I can see quite a few youngsters getting game time towards the end of the season, with more to come next.

Savic is only 20 too, and Rekik ain't lookin half bad!

Anyone watching this lad Sordell for Watford v spurs ? Causing Kaboul more problems than any of our strikers did on Sunday. 20 years old.

Incredible.

Spurs played as if they were trying to lose & Ade didn't look right at all, as if something is going on.
