Mourinho

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Mourinho

Postby BobbyDazzler » Sun Jan 29, 2012 10:26 am

"Jose Mourinho will will decide on his Real Madrid career in the summer.

His potential availability will lead to speculation about a potential move to Manchester City where Roberto Mancini is under pressure to land the title or face the boot.

Mourinho is City’s number one choice to replace Mancini if they make a change. The vacancy at the Etihad Stadium could yet convince the former Chelsea manager to make an unexpected and early return to English football.

Doubts over Mourinho’s future at the Spanish giants have emerged following clashes with players and fans, plus claims that the Real hierarchy are questioning him and his tactics.

Mourinho is fuming at being undermined and by suggestions it is coming from inside his own camp.

His side lead La Liga from arch-rivals Barcelona and are in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Mourinho is beginning to warm to the idea of taking over at City.

Previously he ruled out taking the job, seemingly waiting in the wings to land the Manchester United vacancy from Sir Alex Ferguson when he decides to retire.

But that stance has changed with Ferguson showing no signs of wishing to stand down just yet."

As reported in the Mirror....
Even if we came up empty handed at the end of the season (which I can't see) I wouldn't want Mancini out and Mourinho in. RM is doing a great job and if a couple of farcical refereeing decisions hadn't gone against us, we would still be in three competitions. Mourinho's ego has spiralled completely out of control and he is becoming an embarrassment. The football he plays is negative and boring and our Mario love-in would be brought to a close as he and Mourinho can't stand one another. Probably nothing in it but the logic behind the article is not out of the question.

Bob has done enough already this season to cement himself into the job however it finishes; he has proved he can play the kind of football required to attract fans if City are to become a big team globally (an essential requirement from our owner).

If we were still 2nd in several years time, but obviously had the best team, then you could question it, but most of this team are still learning about each other.

If Mourinho becomes available to them, imo the rags should sack Ferguson & appoint him. If they miss out, I'm not sure there is another manager capable of taking over from Bacon. A period of amusing, mediocrity can easily follow.

I#m not sure Mourinho wants to follow Ferguson though. He will certainly be after Bob's job if he comes over here though so he needs to watch his back whatever we feel about it.

Thanks. Paul Smith is an idiot so the story lacks any credibility. Tabloid journalists have often linked Jose to RM's job but for me it's pie in the sky stuff. We need continuity with a very good manager and Mancini is achieving that.

Can't see him doing an international job til he's either close to retirement or lost his mojo. Then it would be Portugal or England imo.

Ungh..... manager of table topping team under pressure. Yeah, whatever.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

JM was my 1# choice when we appointed RM but after seeing what he's turned into the last few seasons I don't want JM at all. I'd rather have a slower climb to power with RM than a "quick fix" with JM and then see him leave after a few years after embarassing himself in the media all the time.

RM has so far done all we can ask of a manager, unless things suddenly get alot worse I don't see any reason to give him up even if we come in 2nd in the PL.

We are going to get Mourinho rumours every year. If Bob wins everything they will say he's off to Italy, if he doesn't they will say he's about to be sacked & Mourinho will be linked all the time. We have talked to Mourinho & if Bob left we'd probably be after him so it's not surprising we will get linked especially by the southern & rag press.

I recon he'll go to Chelsea.

Chelsea wasn't a train wreck because of how he left it though was it? If Avram Grant could get 2nd then he couldn't have left it too badly.

I must admit when I saw the Barca result overnight I giggled with glee at the thought of Jose winning the league and returning to England. Not to say I want him here, but the prem is miles more entertaining when the special one is around.

love bobby dont want to swap, but the club need to come out and squash this rumour pronto or well have it all season like ranieri at chelsea, not only squash it but sort a new contract out as soon as possible, thats the only way, continued speculation will undermine bobby and do team morale no good whatsoever. if we just say nothing and bob doesnt get a new deal the press will say theyve not give him a new contract there must be something in it. we play far better football, than chelsea under jose m.
the only thing hes better at his handling the british media, or should i say the media like him. hes like a portugese redknapp, only hes achieved a lot more.
