David "Deadline Day" Pizarro

Apparently we a making a play for him, deadline loan to the end of the season.

IMO would be a very shrewd signing if indeed Bobby is after him, a very experienced ball playing mid who has not found favour in the new roma "barca" model under Luis Enrique, if he is fully fit, well worth a punt as loan.

Deadline day could be worth watching perhaps!

Wonder if we'll finally bag Mido.... hmmmm....

Isnt he Chilean, which means he needs a work permit, which means he likely wont get one as he isnt playing for Chile or much for Roma either?

Pizarro to City? It's very hard England could give him a work permit in such a little time!

From what I've heard it would not be a loan but a definitive transfer with a year and a half contract like he still has at Roma. But maybe it's loan to the end of the season and then the possibility to buy him at an agreed price with a season long contract?

Anyway, work permit apart, which I'm skeptical he would get, I think he would not be suited for England.

He likes to keep the ball too much, thus inviting pressure on himself, and while he manages to dribble his way out of trouble or gets a foul in his favour here in Italy, with England's style of refereeing he might get in trouble losing the ball and allowing the opposition dangerous breaks if the ref doesn't stop the game for a free kick.

Quality-wise he's a top notch footballer imho, great vision and touch for a killer pass, but he does have disadvantages which make me wonder just how successful he could be in England.

Top quality game although you're talking about the wrong one you muppet!!!! Pizarro does remind me of the midget player especially when he kicks the ball!!!

I love the way kids played games in ties in the 70's lol. Nowadays they're more likely accompanied by a line and some ho ;-)

Would make zero sense to me. Plays in position where we have strength in depth, doesn't really suit our style of play at all, struggles to cope with pace of game even in Italy and of course there's the work permit issue.

I don't believe this for a second.

Super Striker....With diving goalkeepers. Nothing "poor man" about that.
A modern version would have diving centre forwards!

I've a sneaky feeling this is going to happen.

Says more about Mancini's lack of faith in Hargreaves though Imo.

The two things we are short of in the squad are a striker, and some pace up top in the final third.

This guy fulfills neither. Baffling.

He provides back-up for Hargreaves in the "over the hill, was good once but now often injured" midfield role.
