truth in this?

http://www.sport360.com/article/manches ... die-veseli?

Manchester United have raided their "noisy neighbours" Manchester City to capture 19-year-old central defender Freddie Veseli.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United have swooped to sign the Swiss starlet, who captained his country to Under-17 World Cup triumph in 2009, on Monday, although no more details were given.

Described as a "composed, ball playing centre-back" (but then wasn't another Swiss Philippe Senderos), Veseli has opted to make the controversial move across the city having grown frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities at the Etihad Stadium.

Neither United or City have confirmed the deal as of yet. We await with bated breath.

So, to those who have seen him play with the youth team: is this a loss or another semi decent championship quality player who will just slip into oblivion?

I have no idea but annoys me none the less that he would go there of all places! Rekik is only 16/17 and appears to be closer to the 1st team than him so he cant be that outstanding.

The comedy aspect of this is that apparently his agent said he's signing for the 'Greatest Club In The World' so the rag press has run these stories.

Rumour has it he's just said the journey back from Liverpool was tiring..

Absolute non event imo; nowhere near good enough.

No doubt Ferguson helped that go through, as a payment for Fat Sam's continuing support .

We have a ridiculous number of players on the books, plus about 20 on loan. We have unloaded Mee and Trippier already, and this looks like a 3rd.

I'm sure Bobby's brief (and Marwood's) is to get rid of most of this forest of 'hopeful' people off the books and just keep the likes of Rekik, Razak and Suarez. Quality not quantity.

It's always been a City problem, I remember Alan Ball complaining in his first pre-season as the squad just kept coming and coming over the hill!

Scum, on the other hand, are Glazer-broke and have to scratch about for what they can get among our rejects. Does anyone seriously think we wouldn't have kept him if we wanted to?

Imo it's good that our young players who aren't good enough are finding clubs. It encourages more to come to City, knowing we are helping them have a career in football.

I have seen no confirmation so far that it's the rags who have signed him though, or anybody for that matter.

This guy is averageness personified.

I'm astonished that the rags have signed him but tbf to the lad I'm not surprised he's over the moon & a bit carried away. I expect he had a career at Sheffield Weds or Middlesboro looming on the horizon before this. He must feel like he's won the lottery.
