Details of the Overseas ownership football debate I'm chairing at the Manchester Histories Festival now appears: http://www.manchesterhistoriesfestival. ... balldebate

Get your tickets now!

The panel is a bit different to that listed and consists of Me (chair), Andy Walsh (FC Utd), Dave Wallace (King of the Kippax/former fan on the board), Colin Savage (City finance expert), Dee Hynes (research into football fans/community activities) & Vanessa Toulmin (social historian).

The debate will compare City's overseas owners with those at Utd and question whether community/history and so on is important or not to today's owners.

Tickets are free so it'd be good to get as many there as possible.

Further footballing events (including a talk by me; tour; and Bill Cronshaw's I'll Be Bert) will appear soon.

Tickets sorted.....Think I might enjoy this....:-)
I'm always up for listening to night of gloryfying the blues whilst hearing the rags getting slagged of....especially when done intelligently.
Defo worth an hour or so off work.

Dave Wallace was dead against foreign ownership when he was "official voice of the supporters".

Hope he hasn't switched sides and is a man and says what he said then. As an "official voice of Manchester City supporters".

I reckon DW has well changed his tune by now ... and he ain't my official voice either, I didn't vote for him.

Shall I won't be able to attend, it sounds an excellent way to kill a couple of hours

Considering Chinners was unable to see which way Suarez was looking, I reckon he's been sharing the Twitchy hip flask.
Maybe he's thinker than you drunk he is Mate.

Man can change his mind though surely? In light of 'new evidence', such as major investment and redevelopment, winning the FA Cup, and being top of the league?

Or is this based on a long standing opinion or grudge against Dave Wallace? TBH I don't know the man, and don't buy KotK...

Great. Tickets are limited so first come first served.

Hope you enjoy it. It looks like Bill Cronshaw's play "I'll Be Bert" will be performed about 40 mins after the debate's due to end, so once that's advertised it'd be worth getting tickets for that as well.

It always pissed me off how he portrayed him as some sort of spokesman man for all the supporters. As you can see from this very site there are as many opinions as there are supporters. Also he was giving shit to foreign supporters even back when there was about handful of us.

So yeah, I don't think too highly of him.

Does he still quote the 'cup for cockups' line every week, or has he moved on from that at last?

Fair enough. Hope he's still gonna be in attendance, I will be interested to see for myself.

Edit: Not to self; duh, quite with the needless over editing
