City Players You Didn't Like XI

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

City Players You Didn't Like XI

Postby Niall Quinns Discopants » Sat Feb 18, 2012 6:32 am

We've had million and one "worst City XI" topics over the years and all the time some players get mention who people just basically didn't like but weren't even nearly as bad as some other trash we've had. just for example, people put McManaman on their team while leaving someone like Eddie McGoldrick out. McManaman while being pretty bad for us overall was better player eyes closed than McGoldrick.

So, players who got on your nerves XI and let's try to leave that "I will support anyone who plays for the Blue" high horse out of this topic please.

----------------------------Seaman
Mills--------------------Vaughan-------------Kolarov
Kanchelskis----Clough-------Barton------Cooke
--------------RSC---------Cole------Bradbury

There were all sorts of random reasons why I didn't like these players and apart from Vaughan (who is out of position there but it seems I rarely dislike central defenders) none of them would make worst City XI.

EDIT. Can't believe I left Andrew "Andy" Cole out. Grade A fucking rag cunt.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Charvet---Ben Haim--Thatcher
Abdoun---McManaman---Brown
Evans----Benjani----Cole----Jo

Only been able to watch full games in Australia for about a decade or so - hard to have a solid opinion on all the rubbish players that were at the club in the mid 90's.

Barton and the Vass are harsh, I liked em both when here.

That said here goes. A few of mine I didn't dislike, just thought some of you lot overrated em to death.

To be fair, I didn't even hate most of our rubbish players in the 90's. Especially late in the decade, many of them were just illustration of where we were and how desirable we were as a team. Even the team that got relegated 95/96 and set us to downward spiral, I didn't hate most of those players. I hated the worst football manager there ever was, Alan Ball (RIP). That team should've never got relegated, in fact with right sort of management that team should've been competing in upper mid table.

The players I have there from that era Vaughan, Clough and Bradbury pissed me off because they all came for big money and didn't even give effort to justify their transfer fee. I can deal with shit players who give their everything to the cause, even if we come short. But I can't deal with players who are showing no effort even when they know that teams has wasted majority of their budget on them.

The other two from that era, Kanchelskis and Cooke, got on my nerves because they were rag rejects and it just added extra insult to insult of being shit. Cooke wasn't even that bad (neither was he as good as some people have you believe now) but there really was no need to sign him. I have couple of good lifelong rag mates and fuck me how much fun they had on my expense because of those two.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

This topic isn't about what's harsh. People dislike players for various of reasons. Barton is pretty straightforward as well.

Can't believe I left Andy Cole out. I will replace Benjani with Andy Cole.

And talking about harsh....... Super Kevin Horlock????? WTF? I have him in my about 25 all time FAVOURITE City players.

And Claudio Reyna? What did he ever do to anyone?

Horlock is a star of Gillinghams demise. He was awesome AND inoffensive. Always quite liked Howey and Reyna too. Hated Brown, Clough, Cole, and Gerard Wiekens' hair. Manager would be Hughes or Steve Coppell for fucking off within a day or so.

--------------------Seaman
Boateng--Kernaghan-Vaughan--Jensen
Beasley-------Elano---Barton---Sibierski
----------------Cole---Tevez(c)

Managed by Phil Neal

Elano is in there mainly for convincing the world he was an amazing player despite only having 2 truly decent games for us and wasting the talent he had. He's the Keyser Soze of football and getting those cornrows was the last straw.

Niclas Jensen may have been a decent player but for some reason I always despised the man and he also scored one of the best goals I've seen during my time going to City.

Didn't really hate Sibierski either, just hated seeing his name on the team sheet and the 'good in the air' tag he got labelled with by all commentators and fans of other clubs I spoke to despite being possibly the worst header of the ball of all time.

The rest are cunts.

Can't believe I have seen Dunne, Horlock, Howey, Mpenza, Reyna, Vassell in a most hated players list. Shameful.

Burridge. Goody two shoes, Mr Professional, useless cunt.

Mills. Self explainatory.
Symons. I outed him about two years before everyone else realised what a gutless fucking ponce he was. Captain, my arse.
Kernaghan. Purely football reasons. Just so shit, he made me feel ill. I remember him being left for dead by Mickey Quinn.
Jordan. Fucking weirdo. Looked like he was ready to top himself on the pitch.

Barton. Horrible, overated shitbag who thinks he's Zidane mixed with Roy K**ne when he's actually Joey Barton mixed with shit.
Eddie McGoldrick. Utter shite, but what pised me off most was the fact he'd decided from day one, he was a fan's favourite, & kept giving a clenched fist salute every time he gave the ball away.
McManamanaman. Shite, overpaid, annoying, pointing wanker.
Clough. Do me a fucking favour.

Anelka. Miserable big headed cunt.
Cole. Miserable big headed rag cunt.

There are quite a lot of forwards who could have gone in there. Tomorrow morning I could pick two different ones.

I did it as a hated list.

If I done it as a 'disliked' list, Dunne would have been in mine too. Drove me fucking mental.

Haha, someone's a bit touchy.

I didn't ask for your comment on my post either but you've still given it. That's how a forum works.

In my opinion to include a player who gave his all to the club for 9 years and won player of the year 4 times in a most disliked list of all time either makes you about 12 years old or clueless.

But there has got to be some reason surely? Was it because at one stage he was fighting for place with Tiatto ie Aussie thing? Or something else?

I just don't get it. No wind up or no offence.

Just too vanilla I guess. Don't get me wrong I didn't see as much of Horlock as I did Reyna and they were both a stretch.

I guess the further back you go the fonder you remember the ones that stand out. the others are just there.

Nothing to do with Aussie either, I support England all the way.
