Just caught the last minute with the Chelsea fans booing. Commentator saying that Torres, for all he's getting paid, isn't getting any service whatsoever; not that it'd make a difference I suppose.
If AVB is to stay on he'll need to make sweeping changes in the summer, including getting rid of the old guard who will aways play against him.

This should be a warning to our owners of what can happen if you fuck about with managers. I'm sure AVB is a decent manager but sometimes that doesn't matter. We got away with it, bringing Bob in early, but had he struggled early on & been replaced, the next bloke has to succeed or the shit hits the fan. Any whimsical thoughts of booting Bob out if he comes second, should be tempered by looking at what has happened at Chelsea.

Our academy side got back to winning ways after the Cup defeat to Fulham. It was only against the scum though!
A 3.1 win with quite a few missing players as well, notably Suarez and Rekik who rarely play and Meppen Walter only doing the 1st 45 and Henshall injured after about 20 minutes.Pretty ordinary game I thought but our goals were from Rusnak,Cole and an OG to start it all off.

The situation with Torres is a real hard one to understand. What has happened to him?
I used to play Cricket with a guy called Gavin Hamilton. Very promising bowling allrounder who went on to play for yorkshire and England. Just after playing his first and only test he got 'the yips' bowling for yorkshire, couldn't land the ball on the cut strip. It just happened one over and he struggled to complete it.
He was taken out the side and never bowled an over again in first class cricket. Unreal. From bowling for England in a test to not being able to bowl at all in a matter of a few weeks. Confidence shot to pieces and the muscle memory built up over years just vanished.
He went on to have a half decent career as a batsmen but that one over pretty much finished him as a top player.
I think Torres has the yips.

I remember Gavin Hamilton.
I think you're right about Torres (Sturridge scores) he has a mental problem. He looks pretty good otherwise, to me.

He's a good lad. His old man was president of my club and I opened the batting with his brother for years. Real shame and hard to fathom how that could have happened. I've spoke to him about it and he has no explanation but he knew within hours of bowling that over that he'd never bowl again.
It's definitely a similar thing with Torres. His head is gone.

What a fantastic name for a Birmingham Centre Forward: Jake Jervis.
(Pronounced Jayke Geeervees).
I'm sure his dad did warm ups for Jasper Carrot.

Bizarre.
I can imagine Torres getting it back, as he looks fit now, but I'm not sure it wil happen at Chelsea.

The problem, obviously, is the ridiculous transfer fee. Who would pay even £20 mil for him ? If he could go back to Athletico for instance, you could imagine him lighting the place up, but how could they afford him ? Part exchange for Falcao perhaps ? Or a loan deal. The Milan snakes will be slithering around him if the's a loan option I suppose.

I would defo take a bit of Torres. I reckon Bob would wip him into shape in no time. No really sure Chelsea would allow it though and there is not way were going to pay £50mill for him. I would give them £10mill tops!

Herman would be brilliant for them though.

That's the problem.
He WILL come back to haunt us if we let him go to another premier league club.

why would we want to take a punt on Torres?
Liverpool got the big cash...Chelsea have the problem.
We have the resources to buy the complete article and there is no need to gamble on any damaged goods that need repairing.
Those sort of buys were what we did a few years ago.
