Micah Gets The Call...

Postby Yffi_88 » Thu Feb 23, 2012 11:39 am

About time too....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17137420

Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell has been named in England squad for the first time, for Wednesday's friendly against the Netherlands.

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is the other uncapped player in Stuart Pearce's 25-man squad.

Manchester City's Micah Richards and Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, back in the squad for the first time in more than a year, are also recalled.

Veteran players Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard have not been selected.

More to follow

:

Part of me is happy for him, but another part struggles to give a toss about England and wouldnt mind if he never got picked.

EDIT: Joleon's not been named....

Thought this was suppoesed to be an "experimental" squad with more youngsters in, and how the fuck does Walcott get in there in front of Oxlade Chamberlain?

I actually quite like that squad.

No wio, no terry, no lamps.

Its a shame SP wont have a clue what to do with them but its nice that there are some young lads who might actually play for the shirt.

Agree on the Walcott thing though - the Ox has been great.

Wonder how long it will be until the media put the world on his shoulders and he fucks it.

Cahill or Lescott on current form, crazy, that said England can leave as many City players out as they want for me.

Lescott been our best centre half this season. I'm pretty sure we've got the best defensive record in the league. Stuart Pearce is a thicket! End of.

Lescott would be the best CB there. Should be in the squad.
Gerrard, AJ and Walcott shouldn't be in.
Chamberlain should absolutely be in there.

Bottling it still so I'm still not going to be interested in it.

Also the new kit is raggy as fuck.

Yeah, I wasn't very impressed by it. Sweden, on the other hand, have a very nice kit for the Euros, both home and away shirt:

With Kyle Walker and Glen Johnson in the squad, am I right in thinking Micah has been called up to play CB?

If he's learned from Capello sticking 'England's Best Defender' anywhere other than where he's played most of the season it's very likely. He might have been named for his utility. I hope he's not benchwarming though.

With Stuart Pearce as manager it's also possible that Joe Hart has been selected as a striker and beanie the horse will be conducting the half time team talk.

Who's this beanie the horse? Maybe we could sign him up to do the half time shows with Natalie pike. Better then watching spastics who can't kick a ball embarrass themselves while that gel haired pleb tries his hardest to come across as straight.

Well, both countries play in yellow, so the similarity is hard to avoid. Sweden had a very similar shirt in the mid '80s, so Umbro are trying more to be retro than to rip Brazil off.
