Newcastle Away - Will History Repeat Itself?

Our penultimate game of the league season is away at Newcastle - which is where we last won the league back in 1968.

I believe in omens (when it suits me) and have a real feeling that history may repeat itself this season.

I hope not.

I've had an absolute shocker in terms of arranging holidays and will be in France, miles away from Internet or Satalite TV, for the Newcastle and QPR games. I'm hoping we have wrapped up before then.

I have a feeling we'll be five points clear going in the derby and it will clinch it that night.

Hopefully we'll have it tied up before then.

I want it sorted before the derby. I'd love it if we beat them that night to win it, but I don't think I could take the stress.

Really don't want to think about it, just the thought makes me get giddy and shit myself at the same time, never been as nervous as this about anything in football

I'm exact opposite really. I can't remember when I was this relaxed about football. Almost basically any ending to season will mean we have done better than ever before in my lifetime.

It's the fucking relegation scraps that I couldn't deal with.

I didn't mind it when we were average cos I knew we were slightly better than all the other dross but this looks like its going to the wire, I'm normally chilled out but this has me shitting bricks

I would be alot more comfortable if it wasnt the rags we were up against, esp not such a shit rag team, cant believe there still in with a shout despite there shit squad and scraping of the majority of there results.

I wasnt confident in Jan, but with yaya, mario kolo back its really lifted the team in the last two games.

Tense. As. Fuck.

Would be much more comfortable if we were second - in a way. And steal it at the end.

Like NQDP says though - either way we're bettering anything we've ever done before and it's a cause for celebration no matter what.

But finishing 2nd to those twats after leading all season is not worth thinking about!

This is exactly how I feel. We cannot let this happen.
Let's get behind the team every match till the end of the season and raise the roof at the Etihad.

I'm with you, Niall's. I hated being down the arse end of the table where there was so much to lose.

I remember the scenes and the match, even though I was a little lad watching it on The Big Match, or something. Record home crowd that year 62,942, bring on the ground expansion!

How's it going to be getting tickets for the Newcastle game, beyond the normal away allowance, if that's going to be the decider? City had 7 or 8 thousand in Blackburn for promotion in 2000, can there be that many who'll get among the home crowd at St. James's?

My Dad worked a nightshift at Tesco on the Friday so he could go upto Newcastle to watch it, he gave me the programme still have it.

I can't even think that far ahead. I'm just hoping we've got a 3 point cushion going into the Derby otherwise I'll be bricking it!

Let's hope what Dave and Yaya says comes off and they deliver us the title and if they do, they'll become Legends in front of my eyes. Not many of us can say that now, can we?

Been top of the league since October 15 - I kind of want to skip the next two months and get to the decider, whenever it ends up being.

I'd rather win it on the 30th April. Now that would be sweet.

I sent her text saying im not going but it caused murder so im going. Im so unhappy about it and will never ever forgive her if we are league champs and im not there to see us lift the trophy.

She said we can watch it in the pub like its the same thing, I hate none football folk sometimes who just don't get football......:-)

If you were going to miss the wedding I could understand, but not agree, with her. But I really can't see why you should miss what could be the biggest game City have played in your lifetime just for a piss up in Spain!
