I don't think any single day in football could compete with that. The nerves beforehand, the despair at 2-0 down to the elation at the equaliser. No matter what we manage in the future, winning the league this season, a Champions League in the future, I don't think anything will compare to that day for me. We were down amongst the dead men and if we'd lost, we could still be there now.

And I completely forgot that we should have had a nailed on peno in the first minute.

+1 on that mate. I was convinced it was going over. It even seemed high when he hit. It happened so quick yet time seemed to freeze.

The fact that we got relegated from a poor 2nd tier, weren't good enough to gain automatic promotion from the 3rd tier, weren't good enough to stop Gillingham (ffs) scoring 2 goals, weren't good enough to beat Gillingham over 120 minutes, ended up signing Bob Taylor from them. Dark dark days...........and to top it all, I was recording the game and pressed the stop button when we went 2-0 down.

Halsey was trying to get on his career even then doing CITY down was a method of pleasing the rags even then:-)

To be fair, there shouldn't have been 5 minutes added and he turned down a clear handball from Whitley (I think) when he was all of two yards away from it.
