Makes you well up.

And I completely forgot that we should have had a nailed on peno in the first minute.

Bringing back memories.
I was starting to walk out just before Dickov scored.

'right here, right now' still brings back the memories. And every time I see that ball break to Dickov, I'm convinced he's going to miss.

I don't think any single day in football could compete with that. The nerves beforehand, the despair at 2-0 down to the elation at the equaliser. No matter what we manage in the future, winning the league this season, a Champions League in the future, I don't think anything will compare to that day for me. We were down amongst the dead men and if we'd lost, we could still be there now.

+1 on that mate. I was convinced it was going over. It even seemed high when he hit. It happened so quick yet time seemed to freeze.

Halsey was trying to get on his career even then doing CITY down was a method of pleasing the rags even then:-)

Didn't get excited at the time when it broke to him, as he was never prolific and hadn't had the best of games. I seem to recall him dribbling with it for about 10 minutes before slicing it at the corner flag and then suddenly the net rippled. But I'm still convinced he's going to miss with every replay.

Awesome. Never felt so sick in my life as when we went 2 down. Never left but when all those cunts did I just went and nabbed a better seat for penalties!

Meh, I don't like it. Vile kit. The fact that we got relegated from a poor 2nd tier, weren't good enough to gain automatic promotion from the 3rd tier, weren't good enough to stop Gillingham (ffs) scoring 2 goals, weren't good enough to beat Gillingham over 120 minutes, ended up signing Bob Taylor from them. Dark dark days...........and to top it all, I was recording the game and pressed the stop button when we went 2-0 down.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Thank you. If you had carried on recording, the comeback would never have happened.

I don't know whybut even though I know the outcome, I still feel sick when Gillingham score the 2nd and check the clock for the time left.....and even though I know Dickov scores and Weaver makes those saves....I still get a tad emotional.

I have seen City lift every major domestic trophy, even the ECW Cup but have never felt as good as I did that day.

To be fair, there shouldn't have been 5 minutes added and he turned down a clear handball from Whitley (I think) when he was all of two yards away from it.

See, I think this is one of the City myths that needs dispelling. halsey decided on 5 minutes injury time BEFORE we scored. I think the red bastard wanted a few minutes more to rub our noses in it myself.

And had we got (and the scored) the pen we should have had in the first few seconds, it would have been a different game completely.

Lovely bit of footage though and a game I can never tire of watching.

That's exactly how I feel when I re-watch this. I think I flick this clip on every couple of months. I love it as much today as I did 13 years ago.

The sheer emotion and adrenaline that everyone experienced that day will probably never be repeated.

It was probably the most important game in the clubs history. More so than if we win the PL this year

To Duckso, the fat captain was none other than Andy Morrison. A bit fat but a decent performer at that level. And by default of that game, a City legend. Thank him for what you're enjoying now!
