Same. Tactically not a fuckin clue! I did used to like it when he ran on the pitch though to get the ball. It's a shame the FA stopped him doing that.

Lovely man is Stu, passionate, loves England etc etc.

Then again so does my next door neighbour Michael, but I wouldnt appoint him for the job any more than I would Pearce.

He has no credentials and has demonstrated no ability to indicate he can manage at this level, or should be given the England National Team managers job. His main quality appears to be his Englishness, how he overcame missing a tournament penalty and how he waved his fist when netting a penalty 6 years later.

He is a nice enough bloke but not a good enough Manager. I don't really give a toss about the England team but if I felt the same way about England as I do about City I would be very unhappy if he was made City manager. His appointment of Scott Parker as Captain of England is evidence to me of someone who is not genuinely in control.

fantastic feller. True football man. But he is tactically hopeless. Absolutely fucking hopeless.

Shame because he is a top feller.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Actually, I agree with all of you BUT, having just seen his England team, I may be forced to reconsider. I don't know about the exact selection but the possible formation and balance & potential for future tweaking is a class above anything Capello ever came up with imo. If that lines up 4 2 3 1, it's almost a Mancini team.

Well he can't be any worse than the rest of the morons we've had manage England over the last 20 years... At least we'll have passion and pride with him in charge.

Good luck Stu!

At the end of the day, at this level they shouldn't need much managing and tactically they should be sound. It's all about picking the best available eleven and motivating, I think Pearce can do that so might not be such a bad thing. Hope he does well, at least he sings the national anthem

Cannot see any reason why the England Team should need any less managing that a top class premier league team. Most of these players will not have played together much and will be playing different systems in different teams. I reckon that managing a national team is one of the most challenging but least rewarding jobs in football and very few are really cut out for it. Very little time with your squad, continuous battles with the player's clubs and no genuine influence over their schedules, training or fitness regimes.

Think Arry´s on probation till the end of the season. Another clueless tactical performance on Sun and he´s pissed his chance up the wall re England imo. Let´s hope he pulls out all the stops v scum coz the FA boffins will be watching that game with even greater scrutiny

Disagree with the 'no management required' comment, but international management is a world away from club. Let's see how we get on tonight. He whipped us into shape when he first took the reins in '05.

Pearce might turn out to be a great International manager, its a different skill from club management which, to be fair he has done relatively little of ...

Maybe I was a bit flippant saying no management, but I do think getting the players 'up for it' is most important. They are all very good players, if they turn up they should be a match for most

Parker, not a leader. He looks out of place but the defence has tightened up now Richards has moved in.
