hes been seen coming out of a strip joint early friday morning at 2-45 in liverpool. but papers are again putting a bad spin on this, if the lad got to trainning at the right time on friday and didnt drink what is the problem. we are getting too hard with sports stars these days, if they play 100% in the next game there shouldnt be a prob with them. when i was young many years ago, some players would be in the pub up to a hour b4 kick off and still put a shift in.

City fury at Balo strip club shame
Exclusive
By NEIL CUSTIS

MARIO BALOTELLI is facing the fury of Roberto Mancini after being pictured coming out of a strip club in the early hours of yesterday.

Manchester City chief Mancini was planning to start the Italian striker against Bolton today.

Now the controversial star is facing the axe for his latest misdemeanour.

Balotelli, 21, was snapped leaving the 'X In The City' strip club in Liverpool at 2.45am yesterday morning.

Mancini expects his players to be at home and in bed at that time with a first-team game less than 48 hours away. Mancini will be especially angry as he was relying on 13-goal Balotelli today with both Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero returning from internationals.

There was no suggestion Balotelli was drunk as he is a tee-totaller.

But this is just the latest in a long list of incidents involving the player since he arrived for £22million from Inter.

He recently returned from a four-game ban after stamping on Scott Parker.

That was his second red card this season and fourth in all since joining the club in August 2010.

Most recently off the pitch Balotelli and some pals set fire to his house when they exploded fireworks from the bathroom window. Just this week he was left out of the Italian squad for the game against USA with coach Cesare Prandelli citing his indiscipline.

Mancini jumped to his defence yesterday claiming he was still the best striker in Italy. But that was before he learned of Balotelli's latest howler.

Mancini said: "Mario is the best Italian striker, 100 per cent. I hope after this week, with him not playing for Italy, it will help him in for the rest of this season.

"We know Mario is a top player but he should improve his behaviour."

If Mancini sees it as a problem, it's a problem. If he's not arsed, it's not a problem. It's all down to him, not us.

If Bob has strict rules & a code of conduct & Mario has broken it, then there has to be punishment & that could involve being dropped from the team. He can't make exceptions or others will take the piss & his power will be gone.

There are a whole host of journos hoping for any possible angle to disrupt our attempts to finish above their beloved rags.

If this trip is something he had permission to do, then we can laugh in their faces. If he's been caught doing wrong, it is Mario giving our enemies an excuse to stick the knife in. Would he expect not be be noticed ?

Agree with this.

Also, Custis is a sad excuse for a journalist. Low life cunt. That story on Pearce a few weeks back sums him up to a tee. Cunt.

I love the blind protection some people give that boy on here. If he was meant to be indoors resting then he deserves all the shit he gets from the media. Dzeko will start then.

he was sober in a strip club at 2am....big fucking wow

Hardly "blind protection" but really how detrimental can that conceivably be to his performance on a Saturday? Fuck me, I wouldn't even be off my stride for a 730am start at work the following day.

It depends on whether he's breaking Mancini's rules or not. If he is, how do you advocate that Mancini keeps all the players from doing whatever they like, whenever they like ?

I'd argue that rules like that are more aimed at the English lads (see case file marked Barry, Hart and St Andrews piss ups) who wouldn't have the self-discipline to not be on the beers/champagne if they were there til 2am.

David Silva out having dinner at a friend's house til 2am? Would that similarly perturb you if it contravened Mancini's rule re bedtime? No, thought not.

I can understand the need for rules certainly but if I were Mancini I would certainly use some judgement in when to apply them to the letter

If he has set the rules and they have been broken it's important how he,Mancini, reacts. If he "lets Mario off" do the other players get the same leeway if/when they break rules? Didnt we find out a while ago that Mario missed some early season games for disciplinary reasons? Mancini is no soft touch so it will be interesting to see how this goes.

Mancini will not let him get away with it, he will punish him in line with the crime and rightly so, but its not exactly BIG news and as someone has said, the name "Custis" and the paper it is in says it all.

I bet the owners thought all their dreams had come true when mario walked in with a fist full of dollars..... What I want to know is, WHY LIVERPOOL FFS?

More slappers and a lot cheaper.

Never mind Mancini, what's his girlfriend going to say!

I don't think he will ever grow up. One day he has a special shirt dedicated to his girlfriend, the other he is in a strip club in Liverpool. I really think that he takes advantage of Bob's good will with him and with the fact that he really cares for him. We can say all that we want, but any other player would had been long gone if he wasen't Balo.
After this i really hope Bob will go after Cavani or other top class forward, that is better than Balo and who will be his first pick in games and maybe, just maybe, that will be a wake up call for our charismatic idiot.

girlfriend?

how about "thank you millionaire footballer for being a fun, crazy-ass exciting motherfucker who's in my life"?

going to a strip club doesn't mean he's done anything, at all, other than go to a club where girls are barely clothed and where they sell overpriced drinks, which he apparently had none of.

i'm bored of England finding ways to try and chase away the most exciting footballer they've probably seen in 20 years hit these shores. I hope we can play the public perception game well, let Mario know how to chill out, but don't grind him up over this.

We won't be a better team if a more straight-laced, boring ass player is brought in to replace him, no matter how great a talent the replacement might be.

Compare this behaviour to scouse hero Steven Fucking Gerard please....where's your precious media then?

cheers

until he wont let you down getting a red. it's a resounding YES!
His attitude and focus capability is hugely improving, though.
and this thanks to Mancunians that are making feel him home and settled, for the first time in his life, imo.

I know as an isolated incident it really isn't a big deal...but there are curfews and they're there for a reason. He's going against Mancini's rules, and regardless of how harmless the incident is he just shouldn't be doing that.
