I know the prevailing belief is that Spuds will bend over and allow their benevolent leaders to have their way with them, but surprisingly old 'Arry has been a stick in the spokes for the Rags over the years.
1995 (West Ham)
Holds United to a draw on the last day of the season, allowing Blackburn to win the league by 1 point and preventing the Rags from a third consecutive title.
2008 (Portsmouth)
Wins FA Cup quarter-final at the Swamp to prevent a likely Scum treble (other three eventual semi-finalists were Championship teams).
2012
?
Monumental game tomorrow. Any kind of result for Spurs practically seals Champions League football for them, heaps enormous pressure on the Rags, and makes us very difficult to catch.
Over to you 'Arry. Can you do it again?

you could as easily point out two matches where his team has rolled over for the whiskey nose.
when I saw this thread I was hoping for a comprehensive stats of 'arry vs rags. how has he done with spurs against them? Is my memory just playing tricks or has he lost every time?

Makes for grimmer reading but he has held them to a few 0-0's, and took them to penalties in a cup final.

I don't think they will stop them, not because they can't, but because they will play again like a mediocre team and let stupid goals in. I've seen this scenario so many times this season, that it's almost regular. This is the last important away game they have until the last fixture, when they will face Sunderland.
As i said, i don't expect much, the last time they won on WHL with the little shitty united was in 2000 or 2001, so i think they will fuck things up.

I'm hoping that the spanking they received at the Emirates will work in our favour and they will be determined to bounce straight back.
Having said that, I'm sure Bagpuss will disappointment me again.

If 'Arry 'Otspur is anything like England is making this pretender to the throne out to be. He will deliver the Scottish dragons head on a plate tomorrow and duly stake hs claim to the throne.
Somehow i doubt it. The scottish witchfinder general has his dwarves out already.

Twitcher's mob have overachieved all season and now they're starting on the slide down to their proper level.
The Scum have only to turn up tomorrow to get the easiest three points they could ever imagine.

I'm remaining optimistic on this one. They have got a good home record after all (only 1 team has taken all 3 points of em at WHL). I'm not expecting Spuds to bend over after what happened at the Emirates. There are few remaining games where I expect U*d to drop points. This is one of them.

I hope you're right Branny, I really, really do but I just can't see it.
Perhaps it's the pessimist in me but I totally expect Tottingham to produce a thoroughly spineless display and succeed in making a miserably abject Scum side actually look (fleetingly) good.
Moreover, when the Spuds roll over I could see them conceding a hatful, which would significantly narrow the goal difference gap between us and the Trafford Red Sox.

Looking at the push pull effect of this game, Spurs are not as comfortable as we maybe think.
On a negative side (for us), the pull factor of a possible title or 2nd place finish seems to have been ended by their disaster versus Arsenal. Beating the rags tomorrow will still leave them 5pts adrift of the rags with a much poorer goal difference.
On a positive note (for us) is that last week's loss pushed Arsenal to within 4pts of them and a loss tomorrow would leave Spurs very vulnerable to dropping down to 4th putting them in danger of having to play CL qualiying games.
Chelsea are lurking only 7pts behind and though Chelsea look to be in turmoil, it is still feasable they could make a late challenge for a CL place at Spurs expense. Spurs have to go to Stamford Bridge in a few weeks.
Tomorrow is a huge game for Spurs

Mancini got it right. The scum will will today, 1 of 2 ways.
1) spurs will come out onto the pitch with a family sized packet of lube and velcro fastened arse flaps. What will follow will be a gang bumming.
2) the scum will get 7 penalties.

I've woked up with a little confidence today about this game. I dreamt last night that Scum had one up, but the 'Arry made a switch bringing Ibrahimovich in, who scored a double.
Seems legit.

Where was any evidence of managerial talent from Harry in that game ?
Basically, if Bale had played, Spurs would probably have won & Harry would have taken credit for Bale raping Phil Jones. He didn't play & they let in two goals from set pieces, wheras apparently, they have now become the team least likely to score from a corner; something they were brilliant at before Harry arrived.
He is another Keegan &imo if he doesn't take the England job, he will end up with the sack as Spurs will start to slide over the coming years.
