Apparently he is interested in the Chelsea or England job.
It certainly made me chuckle this morning, but you have to admire his cheek.

Should of got the wolves job, would of lifted them enough to save them this season and then got a decent manager in in the summer. Sven great in the short term no use in the long term!

I find the mourinho+ronaldo to Chelsea stories funnier. Would only cost them around 150 million for the pair yet no mention of FFP.

And Sven would probably be too good a manager for that shower of overpaid shit they call a team.

Fair play to Sven. Both he and Benitez are doing their level best to link themselves to any half-decent job going at the moment.

I would love Sven to get it for the Euros.

He could take Theo Walcott & not play him at all, just for old time's sake.

It does beat the alternative of taking him and playing him!!! Whoever gets the job will take theo and he will inevitably do fuck all!

He could also guarantee a last-eight finish, just for old time's sake. Maybe even beat Germany 5-1 at some point. If the Walcott decision was his biggest mistake, I think that amounts to a pretty good five or six years in charge.

If he is asked in an interview if he would take the job ,what is he supposed to say? He knows he isnt an option.

For a tournament, I would say without all the bullshit that comes with managing the england team on a permanent basis he would do it, and without the pressure of still being manager at the end of he tournament, he would probably go for it in the tournament.

I recon it was one of many.

No real tactics & press friendly team selections. He had a decent group of players to pick from too.

For both parties in the short term Sven is a great candidate.

He must fancy the Chelsea job full time. Think of the pay out he would get!

Decent midfielders, who couldn't play together. The rest of the team was no better than now, I would argue. In fact, we're probably better in some areas - CB (in terms of depth at least) and GK. We also have two good full-backs on each side to choose from. We just lack an incisive, high-tempo-yet-ball-retaining midfielder and a second top-level striker. But we had neither of those in 2006 either.

Sven needs his standing ovation, if you ask me. He managed to take a piss on our rivals with the kinds of Vassell, Benjani, Giovanni, etc. We gave them a hell of a beating in a season they won the league and looked very very sharp, in both games & for who knows when, i really enjoyed how we looked in those moments.
If we had Sven in that year and a half, when Hughes was the manager, i am really convinced that we would had been at a higher level at this time & maybe, just maybe, we would had played a Uefa Cup final in 2009.

Ferdinand at his peak was much better than Ferdinand now, as was Ashley Cole in those days, also John Terry, De Foe, Joe Cole & Michael Owen.

Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Hargreaves at their peak in midfield. backed up by the likes of Lennon, Scott Parker, Crouch, Sol Campbell.

Add Rooney to that & it's probably, man for man, the best England squad to travel since 1970, & I would argue; miles better than the last Dutch squad which reached the World Cup final. Strength, skill, pace, intelligence, set piece specialists, goalscorers in all areas, European experience, trophy winners galore; that squad lacks nothing, just a system & the right kind of influence.

All it needed was Jose Mourinho in charge, not Sven.
