'Players Want Mancini Out At The End Of The Season'

Postby King Kev » Tue Mar 13, 2012 7:27 am

I really hope that City fans treat this atricle with the contempt it deserves. A clear attempt to create divisions within the club and supporters.

ROBERTO MANCINI faces open revolt from his exhausted Manchester City players.

Starsport understands his relationship with some key dressing-room figures had deteriorated even before Sunday’s defeat at Swansea, which saw Manchester City replaced by Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.

Mancini is believed to have angered his misfiring squad by staying in Portugal following their Europa League defeat to Sporting Lisbon on Thursday.

Instead of returning home immediately after the game, as is often the case, Mancini’s men stayed on in Portugal until Saturday and trained in the sweltering heat.

They then flew to Cardiff and stayed in Wales overnight before crashing 1-0 at Swansea. A club insider has revealed the mood has deteriorated to such a point that a number of players now want the Italian removed from his position at the end of the campaign – if not sooner.

“This was a watershed moment in terms of the squad’s feelings towards the manager,” said the source, who claimed that Mancini’s only true allies appear to be David Pizzaro, Mario Balotelli and his Italian-speaking backroom staff.

“Some of the players are unhappy. They believe the title will be retained by United as long as Mancini is in charge here.

“Everyone is desperate to win it, even though that would probably result in Mancini keeping his job. “But the players are exhausted and could not believe the decision to keep them in Portugal until Saturday afternoon.

“It was so hot over there and the extra training sessions were, in their eyes, totally uncalled for.”

Fears are growing that some of City’s star names will consider leaving in the summer. While some are willing to wait until the end of the season to see what happens, others would prefer to see someone else take charge for the final 10 league games, “but that seems unlikely,” added the club insider.

“We could end up losing many of our best players.”

On Sunday, Balotelli and Yaya Toure had to be pulled apart in the tunnel after a half-time row and midfielder Gareth Barry swore at coach David Platt after being substituted.

Defender Micah Richards said: “It’s tiring but we have more than enough players to get on with it.”

It was 'lovely and warm' rather than 'sweltering heat'. As we flew into a cloudy, dull Gatwick on Friday afternoon I know where I'd sooner have been!

Take note Chinners, it's not about Mancini, it's about destabilising the club. Mancini is just the figure head.

Shit story probably taken from that last quote from Micah. Inside source my arse.

It was 17 degrees in Lisbon on Friday. Hardly sweltering.

Exactly! And there are a lot of people who believe everything they read in a newspaper.

What's sad though is that there is almost no difference between a shit newspaper writing a knee-jerk reaction article, trying to sell papers just for the sake of it, and serious fans on a message board that after two (2!) consecutive defeats go on like it's freaking armageddon. I mean, a poll between Mancini and Mourinho was created hours after the defeat and then yesterday one of the legend poster starts a thread with the title "lets panic". Many posters on here as just as knee jerk as the papers. Actually, this paper was less knee jerk than quite a few.

I think it's time for John68 to write one of his war-trenches-courage analogies.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

If we win our last ten games we WILL be champions. Are we capable? Yes, if the players want it and show the desire and passion required. Backs against the wall and all push together, fight anything that gets in our way and make the biggest noise possible at every game. We can, and will, be champions!!

I think you completely missed the point of the "lets panic" thread.

I don't know about the 'Let's Panic' thread but I started the Poll due to a few posters bringing the Mourinho issue up again, and if you look at that thread it actually goes to show that the majority are behind Mancini, thus turning out to be a positive thread.

That's what these boards are for, talking about, and through, the issues. Note that we don't make a story up with some unknown source and try to turn it into fact. That's the difference my friend.

Once again, proof of what many of us have been saying.

There are many so called journo's actively seeking to undermine our club & help the rags win the Premier League.

Mancini should use this to fire us up.

Yes I know why you started the thread, it wasn't a jibe at you. And yes, it would be kind of stupid to have a message board where you couldn't discuss certain things and always had to pretend that everything was la-di-da. I just wish that there wouldn't be such dramatic reactions, either negative or aiming to be positive, after merely two losses. ...

But then again who am I kidding...There's nothing to do about ut. My post was actually quite unnecessary. Sorry Beefy if I offended you.
