Who wants us through and who wants out?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Who wants us through and who wants out?

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Thu Mar 15, 2012 8:04 am

I'm sure this has been touched on but all the same.
Do you want us to go out of the Europa for the sake of the League campaign?
In my view, all the better clubs cope with playing in more than one comp at this time of year and we should be no different.

Go through please.

Through. This comp now represents our best and most realistic hope of silverware this season if we are honest with ourselves.

Being in the fa cup last year did us no harm when bobby manc decided to stop playing like a shitbag.

So, as long as we stop playing like shitbags in both competitions, i am all for fighting on two fronts. Added to the fact that It is extremely rag like to sacrifice one competition for another.

Th major issue i can see is that a good run means we would almost always play after the rags, which i would like to think would spur us on to knowing we have to win to keep up, or a win can take us clear, i see that as a positive, i think

It's all about preparation, if this was the Chumps League would people even be thinking that we ought to go out, bunch of pansies.

After 10 long months without a cup we cannot afford to be so picky about "do we or don't we"

Definitely through and winning both competitions we are still competing in. To win the Europa League this year and Champions League next year to go with the previously won Cup-winners Cup sounds good to me!!!

Like the sound of that. For about 5 years I've had this feeling we'd win Europa then the CL after.

short term view - out to focus on maybe winning the league

long term view - win every game, improve our Uefa coefficient to get a better pot draw next season.

hmm. Through please.

I dont think our coefficient would increase that much to get us in as the 2nd seeds would it? Anyone know how close we are?

It would help if we had a decent crowd again for the game. Seeing loads of empty seats never helps things.

Am hopeful 1st and 2nd tier will be a full at least.

I want to go through but I don't want us to use players who we need for the upcoming weekend games. As we don't have a weekend game this time, we can play whoever in this one but we shouldn't have risked Lescott when Vinny went off. We need one or the other of them to play in every game if we are to win the league.

That one decision has cost us top spot in the Premier League. If Lescott is iffy now, we don't risk him. Play Savic if we have to; don't take any risks with Lescott, we need him for Chelsea
