Zabaleta- Cult hero

He really is, not world class and probably never will be but honestly he's one of our most valuable players. Always comes in and plays well wherever he plays and always, always puts a great shift in. True professional, true battler. Never complains, just gets on with it.

Interesting.

I was thinking during tonight's game that if ever there was a definitive version of 'an unsung hero' then he is it.

The run the full length of the pitch in the last minute was incredible. Great performance as ever

Loved the last minute run. It was awesome. Busting a gut for the cause. I'm glad Mancini's realised Savic is poo cos it means when JL or VK is out (with Kolo out too I guess) it means he'll now bring Micah inside and play Zab more.

You just started a thread about one challenge that Barry put in,then moan about zaba?
He's puts those tackles in every game he plays for us and i seem to remember him bleeding on more than one occasion last year.
Love his attitude and effort even if he's not quite top class.

Love the guy to bits - the epitome of a cult hero. Never gives anything less than 100% week in week out, plays wherever he is asked to and doesn't moan when he is left out of the starting XI. A model professional and a player that every City fan can feel extremely proud of

Defends well and makes things happen when he goes forward - he's moved beyond being an average and committed player to being a very, very good one. Can't actually remember him having a bad game this season.

And yeah, that injury time run was fantastic.

He's not the quickest, but he's a great player. Always goes in 100%. Too bad he gets injured on his face so often. I love him though, he's a great player.

Zabba was nowhere near as good as he is now, when he 1st came to City. Each time the team moves up a level, Zabaleta moves up a gear to stay involved. If people such as Mario & Dzeko had his attitude, they would be unstoppable. He gives everything.

I watched Uwe & Paul Dickov being interviewed before the game & I can picture Zabba sat next to them in 15 years time. He is one of us.

Good summing up. Players often say positive things about the club they play for but from Zaba it really rings true 100%.Brilliant attitude and feeling for City and never gives anything but his best effort.
