thinking big

That's what the owners have done ever since they took over. Big money, big-name signings, big plans for the club's expansion, best facilities, development of the area around the stadium, etc. So regardless of whether City win the league this season, something big will happen over the summer, because this current team wouldn't win the European Cup and might not even have as good a chance of winning the league next season, given that there'll be stronger competition from Chelski and Arsenal. The next step is therefore going to have to be bigger than anything so far, certainly more than signing the likes of Modric or Bale or swapping Dzeko for whoever, all of which have been mentioned. It has to be either (i) break all records to sign Ronaldo or (ii) get Mourinho. Do the former and City will without a doubt win the lot in style, do the latter and they might win things but it would be via the betrayal of a good man in Mancini.
