David Silva?

Postby paulmclaren » Sat Mar 31, 2012 4:03 pm

What has happened?
Unsettled?
Unfit?
Off in summer?
Or just out of form?
The last 5 games he's been replaced, subbed.

Unfit for months. Has lost that little spring step that used to take him over and around tackles. Tired of being kicked to fuck and watching the refs just ignore it.

The commentator on my stream mentioned a problem he's been carrying for four years. I think it's why he was taken off, plus the fact he's been run into the ground earlier in the season.

Bollox, the Daily Mail knows best: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... tract.html?

Dave has been overused this season. He didn't had any injuries and player almost 50 games so far, just this season.

To be fair, i was expecting by now an artcle from Marca or As where there is an "interview" with him telling he wants to go to Madrid this summer. Of course, with Aguero.

Bunch of twats.

I'm a big fan od DS, but, he's totally out of form or injured........or both.......but this is down to the manager and rest him because he's done f@@k all for the cause in the last five matches......rest him and maybe he'll come back into form......Manchini should see this as manager. Today we did dog shit until Pizaro came on, and he added some creative brilliance. F@@k I should be a manager!

I think its poor of Mancini starting him every match, need a rest and it
could been seen from the moon. Gutted Pizzaro didnt start for him today and
resent matches.

If the guy as an injury niggle that i stopping him playing to his full potential then Mancini should have rested him for a few games after toure came back. Will be a shame if he his injured and a major fuck up having carried on playing him. Even if it's just a little niggle, which it must be then surely we have taken a huge risk on him fucking himself good and proper.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

not great timing but i'd rest him for two or three games he's been one of the few who haven't really been dropped at all this season, and what with nasri's performances improving it could be a masterstroke. silva looks fucked and finds it hard to make his mark in games. that said there was some wonderful play by him during the first twenty mins today. a rest would re-fresh him.

I think if Pizarro is fit, he has to have a shout for a start ahead of Silva now.

We have to take him out of the firing line for a couple of weeks and maybe ship him off to the sun to see his family, because it is clear that persisting with him is just not improving things for him. For such a great player to be playing so badly must be killing him too.

I put his lack of form down to a few things. One is the way opposition teams play against us.It's not just that they sit back with 10 behind the ball but they do target Silva as our key man. They get to him fast and they use very aggressive tactics on him and he doesnt get enough protection.
2nd would be the poor form of the players in front of him.Silva is at his best when he can play little balls round corners and then spin off for the return and look for the next option. For that he needs quality movement in front of him from players that can actually find that tiny bit of space and play cute passes back.Of course he needs movement all around hin from midfield and full backs but absolutely key is the movement and quality in fron of him
3rd would be tiredness. Not sure how much would be physical or mental but it's there and I believe he should have been given more time off.It says it all lately when he has been taken off quite early in situations where we have needed a goal desperately. No way would that have happened 6 months ago.
4th would be his injury or the injury he apparently has. I don't really buy into this as surely he would miss some training if the injury was a problem but he doesnt miss training. The word from David himself was that the slight problem he has has been with him for 2 or 3 years.

i'd like to see pizarro and nasri step into the midfield now. silva needs a rest, it's just that simple, whether because of injury or whatever, we need to be able to rest him.

At the start of the season, he played where he wanted. He was often the deepest midfielder collecting the ball off the defence and moving it forwards. He was also in the hole providing the clever balls for the front men and the the full backs.

He definitely isn't working as hard as he did - think back to games like Wolves and Everton where he ran their man marker into the ground and then capitalised on their mistake when they tired. That might be down to an injury.

But I also think he is being made to play wider. We started today in a more orthodox 4-4-2, which makes it easier for teams to mark him. Recently he seems to have been given specific places to play which makes him much easier to mark. Free the Silva One.

Exactly. Look at him, he's not quite the athlete Yaya is, or Balotelli. He should have been rotated and not played every single game.

He peaked too early, like alot of the squad, and now we are paying the price by stumbling towards the finishing line.

Poor poor management.
