Wow.

Where do I start? Was extremely pissed off with Mario today with the aggro on the freekick. Got to be more professional: passion, I appreciate; wanting to take responsibility, I applaud. Fight in our players, I absolutely relish - but taking it to the extent that you actually kick off with a team-mate over a free kick is just not fooking on. Sometimes it just looks like he's waiting to choose his ten minutes to turn it on and get involved. Great goal though. WHich makes his overall performance all the more frustrating.

And for our fans?

A fight kicked off next to us in 110. Apparently some nobheed who doesn't normally stand there, was shouting his mouth off, people criticised him, bit of handbags and then people throwing punches. Some lad got dragged out. Can't even remember at what point in the game, but it was one of the more embarrassing bits.

Then, 5 minutes to go, and it bangs off again, royally. Many punches thrown, quite a few involved. Think my sis even said she saw a woman getting hit. Some guy shepherded his son out pronto: nice man. Gave son to someone else, and waded back in, flinging: mentalist. Blind, ugly violence! Blue on blue violence is pretty horrible to watch, especially when losing at home.

Both were really sad to see.Was Mario battling with Kolarov or Tevez? I couldnt tell from the distance I was but I suppose its a better storyline saying it was Tevez.

As for the fighting fans I have no idea why it started beyond some idiot mouthing off as some others,with small child, were leaving but it was certainly ugly.

Have to say that the aggro I usually hear is almost always manager related. Last time I saw blue on blue was vs Hamburg at home, and on several other occasions during clueless' tenure.

Fact is, we all have an opinion, and one of my very big bugbears on here is that if I want to spout off, I will probably do it here rather than to the detriment of the team, the players, the manager, or the people around me, yet the very same attitude kicks in from other posters which causes trouble to quickly escalate in the ground. You only need to look at the Mancini thread already (2nd post I think it was) where someone can't involve themselves in a debate, they just attack the person, not their point of view.

On tv they showed Herman pulling away and Kolarov pushing Mario, then a close up with Vinnie pulling him away with another player, i think Nige. Then he went and of course, they had another close-up on him to see if he is saying something.

Yeah it would have been interesting to see Tevez step up to the plate, given what we've seen of his capabilities. Would have been a good political move too. But I suppose that's hindsight innit. Always have a bit of faith in Kolorov in that position though - whether he can defend or not - he is potent at that shit.

Whole thing has given me a nervous quivering anxst. Pretty gutted at the mo. But we shall see.

Kolarov is our best set-piece taker so it was an easy decision. I' cannot recall seeing Balotelli beat the wall in his time at City - he just seems to blast it as hard as he can straight into it.

I was pleased with Kompany acting as a good captain and sorting it out. If he wasn't on the pitch I'm not sure what would have happened.

As for blues fighting blues it happened ever since I started going in the late 80s and no doubt before that. We have many fans who just get too pissed up to be at games and hold down a normal debate.

Balotelli has done it before with Inter.

I remember one game where he got in an argument with Eto'o because he wanted to take the penalty. There was some pushing and shoving on the pitch between them before the penalty.

I really don't think he will ever grow up, but as long as he keeps scoring it doesn't matter. I fear for his career if he ever hits a dry spell though.

It was disappointing but I actually agree....It should have been taken by Tevez/Mario from there so Kolarov I thought was very much in the wrong for trying to hog that.

That said, Mario acted like a dick and that was inexcusable.

Kolarov needs to be better instructed re his free kicks though. His shooting is excellent/dangerous but he shoots pretty much all the fucking time and that is just a waste. He should have whipped a couple of them in yesterday and we would have likely had a decent attempt on goal from the big lads we have.

It was an embarrassing spectacle though. Some of them would have been better off showing their "passion" in their actual fucking play yesterday.

I completely agree. We now seem to be surrounded by fans in the family stand who assume that they just turn up, watch City play like Barcelona and proceed to roll over the opposition by at least a 3 goal margin. Some of the comments that get thrown out are embarrassing and, quite frankly, pathetic.

We are all going to be disappointed if we don't win the league this year, but comments at half time of "Mancini is clueless", "he needs sacking", "Silva is a waste of space" etc etc just make us look like complete idiots. We are still unbeaten at home. Can you imagine saying this barely 2 or 3 seasons ago? If someone had said at the start of the season that we would win all of our first FIFTEEN home games in the league, would we have honestly believed them?

Perspective guys. No, the recent performances haven't lived up to what we know these players can achieve, but is any of this as bad as losing 2-1 at York and then seeing the league table?

If the current manager and team had dragged us from the third tier to the premier league, as Royle did, then they'd deserve some slack. However since then, we've had at least three chairmen, a new stadium, five managers and spent an absolute fortune.

I don't want us to forget where we came from, but we need to lose the losers mentality that because we were skint and shit we should be grateful for every corner we get now. Also, how the league played out last year or 30 years ago has no bearing on what will happen this season. History is bunk, as they say

A percentage of 'fans' just take any success in their stride & immediately expect it as routine. Then they react to any setback as if we were back in the Frank Clark/Phil Neal type situation. There was one sat near me (not in his own seat) who started shouting abuse at Balotelli early doors but then fucked off after he noticed the reaction he was getting.

So using the same logic are you saying that those fans who sat there yesterday slagging off Silva are well within their rights because we shouldn't expect them to take into account anything he has done for City in the past? Or the fact that our home form has been utterly superb, yet the reaction yesterday from some was as if this kind of performance had been happening at home on a weekly basis?
