Great comebacks .... almost

Postby Dubaimancityfan » Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:26 pm

We've done it a few times this season but still could not score that final goal that makes all the difference.
Down 0-3 against the Scum in the FA Cup, we scored 2 but could not find the 3rd to force a replay.
Down 0-1 against the Scouse in the 1st leg, we went ahead 2-1 at Anfield but could not hold on and could not score the 3rd needed goal.
Down 0-3 against Sporting (on ag) in the 1st half, we scored 3 but again that illusive all important goal did not materialise although Joe Hart came oh so close !
And today we did it again but fell short again !
The Gods of football have been playing with us. Raising our hopes which makes the crash that much harder.
Are we due for some luck at last ?

Simple answer is no. They are not great comebacks, and we wouldn't have this problem if Mancini stopped his arse from falling out quite so often and thought of a way to break teams down that didn't send us to sleep more than them.

We've improved our coming from behind an awful lot this season compared to last season. There's some hope to take from it so maybe next season the comeback will be complete and we'll get those 3 points but at the end of the day we reacting to situations we shouldn't find ourselves in.

The thing is today we could not react to something that has'nt happened a lot at home this season a team that came to play simple as that.

True Dazza, we did but those were from 1 goal down at home which you would expect any good team to do. It's the ones where we needed 2 or more where we've failed. Good efforts all though and made the draw yesterday just a bit more acceptable (as a stand alone result and not on its implication on the title race) !

Good point Gillie, I guess the lads have been spoiled or become over confident with their home form. Something for Bobby to fix (add it to his long list !!).
