Jonathan Pearce

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Jonathan Pearce

Has brought new lows to the standard of journalism in this country! And that's saying something!

Said that every step that people left with was with a heavy yet understandable heart and then slagged people off for leaving early! "Why pay your money?" Would love to know when the last time he paid to watch a match!

If he was having a pop at those leaving early then good on him. I was totally TOTALLY disgusted with that.

We don't deserve to win the league. As a team and as fans we just aren't ready for it. Stay the full 90 PLUS injury time and then we'll earn something as fans.

I can't stand the bloke. However, with people leaving then he has a point. There's an old couple who sit in the front row where we are and even though we've got to know them well (they offer us cold chip butty's now and then) they still confuse the hell out of me. Yesterday, the old gent layed into every player, swore at every pass and couldn't even pick himself up when we levelled at 1-1. Then, at 78 mins, 3-1 down, he gets up, gives the call to his Mrs and they're away. They leave early every match they attend (sometimes they can't be arsed) but with so much time left, even this was a first for them.

Then it comes, 5 mins from the end and you look down and the streams of fans head for the exits, even though we're just about to pull one back. Everyone to their own I say but I just can't for the life of me understand why people would leave when we're chasing a game.
_________

Even worse, just put the Sunday Supplement on and it's all about Mancini/Balotelli and they've got that Dracula type bloke on. This should be fun!

You obviously left early then. Shame on you.

I tell you what though mate, I've been FORTUNATE and PRIVELEGED enough to attend 3 matches. For those 3 matches I supported the team for the entire match, save for giving an absolute gobful to those who left early. If the fans took this on and shamed those like yourself that leave early, I think we'd see less of it occurring.

Actually mate! i didnt and dont leave early, I was in my seat at the final whistle, my point is that you wern't in the ground at the final whistle and by your own admission have been to 3 games in your life, so stop making accusations about those who acctually pay their money to go and support the team by turning up.

If someone left at 85 mins then they were there 85 mins longer than you, do you not see the irony in your post ?

It's a little difficult getting to City from Australia!!!

No I do not. You do know where I live right? Watching City live in this country actually takes a lot of planning, understanding from partners and a willingness for forego a lot of sleep. However, if I chose to live in your country I would attend regularly. It galls me that there are people lucky enough to be able to go, to devote the time and energy, but piss on their efforts by leaving before the conclusion.

If I had gone to bed 5 minutes before the end you would have a point. But I don't. And I apologise for accusing you of deserting the side.

all ifs and buts, the fact is you do not attend games and you are complaining about those who do, as i said before if someone is at the ground for 85 mins thats 85 mins longer than you were there is it not.

Jonothan Pearce found his level on Robot Wars. It's like listening to the love child of Danny Baker and Jeremy Clarkson.

We have put in enough as fans. By "we" I don't mean you. I mean the people who are there every week and have been for 20 odd years. You might be a city fan from afar but you have no right to talk shit about what the people who are actually there every week should or should not do.

You and Jonathan Pearce can shut the fuck up.

Therefore, by that logic, no-one at the ground should have a say on anyone else at the ground so you can all shut the fuck up.

I saw people leaving at 3-3 with a few minutes to go yesterday.
But then again, I saw some people going to a JLS concert last night.

I guess I will never understand some people.

Well you can argue all day about the old "you don't live in manchester" lark and of course I fall into that category...

But I think its strange that so many people would leave when the tide is turning in a match... During a title fight.

I'm not gonna say anyone is better than anyone else, but it is a shame that it happens. I'd live in the place if I could.

Apolgies I never meant to make this yet another leaving early/staying to the end thread.

My point was Jonathan Pearce never fails to slag not only the club off on MOTD but the fans too. At the Fulham game, he commented that there were still some empty seats in the East Stand, when the game was officially a sell out, despite the fact that the conditions were dangerous for anyone travelling a long way (which a lot of modern fans do) and that there were extreme cases of empty seats around the country that weekend!
