I'm assuming he was left out of the squad through injury as I can think of no other reason?

Does anybody know the extent of his injury and when he is due back?

He left training on Wednesday with what looked like a minor hamstring problem.I am sure he said just precautionary as he went off.Didnt see him again in the week.Cant be sure but I would say ok for next week.Will see tomorrow if they train.

I think we really missed him yesterday. When Silva is our only creative player I think he struggles to find that killer pass, he needs Nasri or Pizarro with him.

It was also mentioned yesterday that he had a family matter to deal with.

Yeah I heard that too on GMR (is it still called that?) when they got the team sheet.

I saw Nasri recently for France v Germany, and he was immense; and thats after Blanc had previously, - even if a few months ago, - questioned his attitude.
I was hoping after his performance against Chelsea that he would pick up the slack from Silva's (temporary) decline, so I was disappointed to hear about him not being available yesterday.
I feel that the combination of him and Tevez, and Aguero, could be the base for a resurgent assault on the title to take advantage of any slip-ups by the Rags

With Silva going completely into the tank, Nasri would be the player we would lean on more and more and recently he's really picked up his game so it was very disappointing to see him absent yesterday.

Kompany and Lescott's absence has been more significant than just in terms of personnel, and the quality of their replacement; its also affected Ya Ya's deployment, and effectiveness.
Lescott has been immense for us this season; probably our most consistent defender and the effect of his extended absence can't be overstated
