A question for the english supporters on the media

Why are the media really anxious for United to win another title? They wanna call the title for United as soon as possible?
I don't care much for the conspiracy theories unless I'm really upset and need a vent and there's is already a thread for that anyway. Furthermore, of course there's a sort of bias because there are more united supporters than there are city supporters globally. But I mean.... is there a also a bias because the english culture likes proven winners enough to not be that much fans of up and coming teams? I mean, if it would have been Swansea challenging United for the title I'm pretty sure the media still would have been going on and on about the freaking squeaky bum and all that. The mere use of that phrase says something on the admiration that the journalists have for Ferguson. Can someone help me by explaining it?

It's strange isn't it. Every season they say it would be nice to see somebody else challenging for the title, but when we put a challenge in they can't wait for us to fail!
The English press love ferguson and redknapp, I have no idea why, but it seems to buy their teams a lot of support from the media.

The truth? borrowed american money will always be seen as more legit than real arab money. Wait for the headlines tomorrow. The footballing reportage will take second place to snidey comments about "you cant buy success"...nah, bullshit...its all about who is buying it, or trying to buy it.....no different than if i won the lottery and moved into a big kensington mansion...Id get the same shit under the nose look...we simply aint one of "them".

I think what he is asking, and I was thinking the same, is why other clubs beside us, the big ones, with history, allow this to happen year after year. If you go into a normal pub, 75% of the people there will say they hate them because they are cheating cunts.

Funny u should say that. I'm currently writing up something very similar . It's also not just American money against Arab money, but Jewish . We all know England and America are pro Jewish and anti Arab . The more u dig the more shocked u will be at what you find. In my research ic found this goes beyond a game of football . It's also political.

People are creatures of habbit, routine brings us comfort. Sports journos are no different and when change happens it challenges what they have become used to. What they are showing is an inertia to that change.

I think its our first real season challenging for the title but we kinda cheated with the money (media), but over time that "moneybags" label will die just like chelsea's did. The whole media looked like they wanted the rags to win the title as they couldn't bare big bad city doing it so easily, maybe because football is/was a working class mans game and don't like people with money who flash it around like they are Mr big bollocks.
The only way to shut the media up and other fans is by playing beautiful football/ winning football...... and deserving it, people eaarlier on in the season was getting behind city as the football was magnificent. But as the football slipped, the hatred became worse and more in your face and people thought they was always right, money cant buy success "we told you so blah"
The rags and Liverpool etc didn't become well known "great clubs" cough cough, winning one league title they did it over a number of years 20 or 30 even longer, they even finished 2nd sometimes OMG 2nd what a shit place to finish!
I would of enjoyed us winning the league this year don't get me wrong but there is a part of me that thinks that it will be part of the clubs history fighting for the title and give us as a club the mentality to carry on and become stronger not on the pitch but mentally, and the success will follow, i hate this attitude that its inevitable we will win the league, no it aint, we have to Prove we are worthy of winning it hands down no excuses. It will come eventually and maybe next year the media will be more for us as of our huge dissapointment this season as we all know the media loves an underdog.
