Let me start by apologize for being pretty uninformed: have been taken by family engagement I barely managed to see 15 mins of the Rags and have confirmation that EPL is - this year for the first year ever - officially fixed not to less extent than a shameful Serie A (reference made to Lee Mason penalty and red card plus Sparky decision to drop SWP and Zamora, after all what digested along the season) and obviously the City dismission of the title in London.
I just have had a quick browse of the forum and neither arsed to visit the OS.

well, after watching such a shame, and even discounting dropping of form and a possible mental give up of the challenge, I can fairly state I never happened to see such an abject performance by so many members of a title chasing side.
I can barely save Joe, Joleon, Vincent, whatsoever vote You may rate their performance, plus Yaya as to soon to judge and maybe Mario because he's a complete fool. After that, poor form or not, I simply cannot accept Aguero not able to get a correct first touch, my beloved GazBaz strolling around the park not arsed to make a challenge and waiting for the mate next to him to get his ball, Nasri unable to set a 3 yards pass and close an one-two in a decent manner, Zabba and JM I even miss the words to describe. I would add that, while I'd have understood Mancini dropping Micah for a more defensive coverage of the flank if Wenger had lined Chamberlain, the only logic I can argue there is as if he has went for the men he trusted more. a very scaring feeling which reminds me the latest weeks of Hughes tenure....

I am certainly sharing a very negative mood with all of You and possibly I shall see brighter in the next days but this genuine question has sprung to my mind for all the game and I feel the wise answer proposed here http://www.mancityfans.net/mcfnet/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=42383 too much limited to explain what we saw yesterday by such a bunch of top talented and gifted players. until Sunderland I pretended to see some glimples of fight back attitude and explain some poor outputs with form dropped and winning mentality (as a team) still in building mode, but yesterday's last call have truly been behyond explaination.

I would love and welcome a fair discussion, because if my gutted feeling is right, City would have lost 2 years of the project and will be falling in the need to start a new shambles. time will tell soon, though, as the pressure is sadly gone off.

I don't know that he's ever had the dressing room in the first place tbh.

I don't get the impression that the players really know Mancini very well at all, he's just 'the boss'. I don't neccessarily think that's so bad. I don't believe anybody on the playing staff ever really knew Brian Clough & he didn't even attend training sessions half of the time.

The question is: do they think he's as good as he needs to be ? If the answer is 'no' they may try to get rid of him in the next few weeks. We should get an idea v WBA & Norwich. If they get stuck in, there's probably no problem. If they amble about, I'm not even fucking going to the Utd game.

If you worked in a place whereby the manager always lets off one of the workmates time after time after time after time but he absolutly nails a few others including getting rid of some for much much lesser offences.....dont you think you would pissed off and start wishing for another manager ?

I alluded to this as being a problem during the many Bellamy arguments. It's not just Mario who he's done it with, it's Tevez too but at least Tevez has done something in the past to deserve it.

additional edit: how to explain what happened when Kolarov was just entered and took the free kick, Mancini shouted and gestured calling for a scheme obvioulsly trained, to cut in. Kolarov deliverd the ball there, the spot was quite clear of defender but NOBODY went in and the keeper jst had to step out a collect the ball...

I had the very same thought along the game, also because it would be the only logical reason to explain the dropping of Micah, who has certainly been very grateful to Bob until the very last weeks at least.

I totally disagree there. as in Munich yesterday, very much more tbf, the team was shambling without a clue, losing shape and thus allowing them to control the game. getting in NDJ then and AK yd was just a logical attempt to get back the control of the park.

I'm sorry but it's not the way to operate at that stage in our league. It is not the Champion's League or Serie A it is the English Premier League & that's not how you win it. It requires daring & positivity & unfortunately, Sir Alex Baconcunt has more of that.

I agree with this, it doesn't matter if you are on 200K a week or £200 a week a twat at work getting preferential treatment is fucking annoying. Balotteli without doubt could be a quality player, but at present he is just a twat who has helped towards the demise of our season, and Mancini has not stopped it happening.

While my grasp of Your own language would certainly benefit by a wide refurbishment, my knowledge of the English game is solid and devoted. I've been followed english footy since my grandad gifted me a Buzzer's shirt in 1971, as a fresh breath of daring sport, fair challenges in comparison to the overtactical and soft game played in my country; let alone the fact that is also almost fixed as You have never experienced until Your whole Country went scared by the idea that a bunch of Arabs may dare to buy the League... :-(
certainly more closely in the last three decades when the international broadcasting have been developed, nor I missed any chance to attend live games whe i lived in London nor I do any time I can arrange a business meeting next a the w.e.
You can rest assured I do not need to be patronized on the qualities of English football, irrespectively of the FA acheivements.
Once and for the last said that, as You know better than me, a football game is won - worldwide - by taking and holding the control of the middle of the park, then You can apply all the attacking solutions and variations You please, either on the flanks or in front of the edge. very few times You have Maradona or Messi who win You games with a masterstroke or two, despiste You don't control, other fews You get enough luck to win it by a crazy deflection or a desperate throw-in but those don't affect the axiom in the greater scheme of things.

No sorry. You are wrong. You can try many things to win a game including missing out the midfield completely.

Football games are not all won by tactical genius or by midfield mastery or anything else. Stoke very rarely win any games by mastering the midfield & many of the games we have lost, we have dominated possession but not created many chances.

We have come back from terrible situations by throwing everything at the opposition recently after our 'plan A' has been fucked up. We have attacked & attacked & the opposition plan has been ripped up.

We had nothing to lose & everything to win Against Arsenal. This is an Arsenal side which is notorious for bottling it when attacked. We tried to play sensible football as if we were playing the game in September & a point was ok, rather than 30 mins away from losing the title at the end of a season.

Ferguson would have won that game with our squad to pick from & he wouldn't have done it by worrying about Arsenal, he would have made them worry about us & tried every kind of attack known to man. We should have finished that game with their penalty area full of City players & even Joe Hart if neccessary. That's what Bacon would have done & that's how you win this league. If they breakaway & score then tough, we lose by 2 or 3 rather than losing anyway by drawing 0-0.

That midfield score about 4 goals per season between them & you are trying to tell me this is correct when we need to win in order to win the title ? All those midfielders & defenders are the best selection to win a title in the last 30 mins ?

There are many ways to win a game, but we often seem to have just one. Against chelsea and Lisbon, he seemed to have realised that if you really go for it, it usually works. He then appears to have forgotten again. Even Pearce tried something out of the box when he pushed James up front for the last 5 mins and it worked - he won a penalty for no reason other than the defenders didn't know what to do with him.

Why haven't we seen Micah shoved up front more often - put him alongside Dzeko for those last 5 and let the defenders worry about trying to pick up two men and the balls knocked down to Aguero, Silva etc.

Yesterday, I didn't have a big issue with Kolarov, as we were struggling down that side and he could get some crosses in which we know Arsenal don't like. However, the man to cross to, Dzeko, was left on the bench. Or again, shove Micah on instead and pump loads of balls at him.

Plan A was brilliant until Xmas. Once teams worked out defence A we've been screwed and he hasn't been able to come up with B or even A v1.1

Even if Kolarov was correct (which I can't agree with) Pizarro had siezed up like a 1960's Morris Minor, Nasri is a forward LEAVE HIM ON, put Milner in place of Pizza head, bring on Dzeko & fucking tater Arsenal's defence, push the CB's up to the halfway line, both fullbacks forward for width. It was just terrible, clueless, one dimensional thinking.

Pure fuclin cowardice as many on this thread have pointed out. Just fuclin go for it FFS! What did we really have to lose? A fuclin point which we lost anyway!! Time and time again. I just can´t get my fuclin head round it at all!!

He's lost a few for sure over the past couple of seasons. Going through it line-by-line might make it clearer albeit with a personal opinion on each case:

HART - Doesn't care who is the manage as long as he's playing every week I reckon
KOLAROV - Think he plays for the manager and often looks to follow his advice
CLICHY - Keeps his head down and gets on with it
KOMPANY - True pro will lead no matter what is happening
LESCOTT - As per Clichy
BRIDGE - No one cares
SAVIC - No one cares what he thinks
RICHARDS - Has had a couple of run ins but mostly positive
TOURE - Maybe not manager based but since his drugs ban he's made a few comment about the club not backing him
ZABBA - Gets on with it but would be influential amongst the spanish speakers
BARRY - Has played most games so I'd imagine he loves the manager
JOHNSON - Numerous press articles from Mancini saying Johnson has to to perform better. Doesn't look a happy relationship
De JONG - Again a couple of articles out there which Nigel questions the team. Don't think he's too impressed
MILNER - Has not been happy many times on the pitch and has shaken his head and argued with the manager on the touchline
NASRI - Keeps his head down
SILVA - Another quiet one, just gets on with it
YAYA - Has questioned the team's experience and desire a couple of times. He's better placed than any to offer his advice on whether we have what it takes to win major honours.
ADEBAYOR - Relationship broken down beyond repair
TEVEZ - See above
DZEKO - Very nearly as the above two
BALOTELLI - A total love/hate relationship currently in a soon to be prolonged hate period
AGUERO - Keeps his head down and gets on with it. Looks like he's thinking of Madrid though these past couple of months.
SANTA CRUZ - No one cares

I think his biggest issue is with strikers. He's lost them for sure, not the dressing room but definitely them. He needs to find a winning formula up front and quick smart too. We need to get our strikers believing again like they did pre-December.

If we continue with abject performances then Khaldoon will start looking at the numbers and with a £50million and £25million pound striker that could come back into the team for another manager - well in the days of FFP then it could have a bearing compared to a couple of seasons ago when it would not have.
