Aguero

Barely had a distance shot all season since thrashing one in on his debut & weakly mishit most when he has, (not scored a single volley either in spite of being one of the best volleyers around), goes missing with a mystery 'blister' injury, comes back & starts shooting/ volleying again. Coincidence ?
Someone made the point that early season he had some kind of mystery injury which was supposedly linked to new boots ?
Not having it. He's been carrying something imo, probably still is but they've found a better way of treating it.

You may be onto something or maybe its just confidence? Not that I am saying he was short of it but with Carlos there he must have been buzzing plus when your a goal up you are more likely to go for those outside shots rather than work it in.

It's high time Aguero got the lavish praise he deserves.
Throughout the season he's been overshadowed by Balloteli's histrionics, Dzeko's failings, Tevez's waywardness, Silva's magic etc.
Even when he's not been that great he's been good. 30 league games, 21 goals, 9 assists? Yes please.
And he's only 23.

I fucking love Aguero. He's a hero. Great attitude, never stops working, capable of absolute magic and he's only gonna get better.

I think we'll see an even better Aguero next season who scores plenty of goals from distance.

He's alright but he is no Steve Kinsey.

He only cost £3 million more than Carroll. I know which player I'd rather have.

I think the OP has a point about aguero carrying some sort of injury. Thought he also looked faster the lasts purple of games than he has done for some time. As some have already said, he willbe better again next season.

Most league goals he's ever scored in a season as well. And still four games to go. Plus he seemed to hit a brick wall when he'd normally be having a winter break so will be interesting to see how good he is next year.

Would you want to play alongside either a man who cant pass it and never runs for space or a man who wont pass it and never runs for space? Small players need movement to be successful and that includes Silva as well as Aguero. Has Silva suddenly remembered how to pass? I dont think so.Mancini gave up on Dzeko a long time ago. Its a shame he waited 3 games too long to give up on the prodigal son.Fecking pray he has now.

glad yr back. i never would have considered that perspective. Lemme just read it back to you: When you are winning you take a lot of long shots as opposed to trying to walk it into the net when yr level or losing, right?
brilliant.
cheers

I think the point was when you're confident you tend to gamble more (volleys, longer shots, runs etc) but when your confidence is low you tend to snatch at the ball therefore end up trying to over do the attacking plays and try to "make sure" rather than just play it natural.
does that make sense??? lol

Nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year. Also nominated for Players Player of the Year are Joe Hart and David Silva. Can see RVP winning that one though.

Someone just sent me this.Might have been posted, but Neville's analysis here is excellent. The last minute about Sergio's partnerships with the other players is interesting, too.

I am definitely not the bloke kind who likes to add on witch hunting [Mario, antics, etc.] but here is another Ratface good piece of punditry, that I think may add to perspective and worth addition to debating the issue:
