Unheralded Team of the Year

Moving on from the PFA thread, how about a team of the players who've had great seasons but would have to move heaven and earth to get on the PFA list? Here's mine:

Krul/Sczeszny

Simpson
Colocini
Lescott
Baines

Sessegnon
Dempsey
Cabaye
Sinclair

Ba
Holt

Sigurdsson and Cisse have had great half-seasons as well.

Lescott

Sessegnon

McClean/Britton
Hoilett

The question is though would they win the league?

That's impossible to answer because no team of eleven players has ever won the league.

With mine, I've also given no thought to any kind of system. I've merely picked eleven players for eleven positions, based on nothing more than form over the last nine months.

I don't imagine for a second that Grant Holt is top-4 material, but some (e.g. Cabaye and Sessegnon) definitely are.

Valencia has been pretty amazing and appears to have gone unnoticed by many, same amount of assists as Silva now.

Knew that'd be questioned but I stand by it. Vidic and Ferdinand have been out for much of the season and he's stepped up. Hopefully he gets sent off in the derby again, but he would've been a fair nomination (if not anywhere near being the winner) for YPOTY, imo.

Have to say, he has been their main man since january

Id love us to sign Sigurdsson would be a great signing for us. Hard to argue with most of the list, id take Sinclair out though just not sure for who though, maybe gutirrez. Maybe Assou ekotto for baines too.

I know its subjective, but based on ratings and contributions to the team, baines is the stand out full back in the dream teams this year, which is odd, as ive never really seen him do a right lot.

And to think we have spent 35m on left backs in recent years but not seemingly been in for him., we should have just paid the money Gollum would have wanted to bum off us for baines, would have cost less in the long run.

I think victor Moses should get an honourable mention, if he lives up to his potential he will be a cracker.

I think its cos he takes penos and free kicks it bumps him up a lot but i like my left backs to defend first and foremost and baines isnt great at that in my opinion. Clichy is twice the player he is.

I like clichy, but he isnt a great defender. Strikes me as though nobody can decide whether he is a winger who doesnt cross, or a defender who doesnt defend, he just seems to get by. Still a million times the player kolarov or bridge though.

With my rudimentary assessment of baines from a dream team score, you would have to include that his team dont keep many clean sheets, wheras city do. Thus the sum of kolarov and clichy should be higher than baines score, but its not. Dunno how old he is now, but if kolarov is going to get ditched, we could do worse - although i think we would be in the market for a kid, with clichy playing a bigger role

looked suspect to me vs wigan last week and was all at sea in the bilbao games.

any defender can look good when teams don't attack with conviction.

i hope he plays a week on monday vs aguero/tevez/silva... he's got no chance.

Not putting Van Persie in after he's carried Arsenal is crazy!

This is easy - here is your definitive list:

Vorm

Williams
K Walker
Simpson
Sahwcross

Dempsey
Sessegnon
Sinclair
Larsson

Ba/p cisse
Yakubu

I would put certain other players, such as baines in but i don't think that he's "unheralded". honourable mentions to holt, graham, krul, dyer, hoilett.
