Ronnie Irani

Just switched on the radio & you could feel the jealousy toward Chelsea coming from this twat & you could tell he would hate it if they win it. Then he goes on about how easily Germans take penalties: TWO OF THEM MISSED YOU STUPID CUNT!

His show hasn't even started and I've already turned the twat off.

He was fucking useless at cricket, how the fuck does he get a job talking about football ?

Talksport works on a simple principle, you stick any irritating twunk in front of a microphone, where they are given a series of key points to get across - German's are great, Chelsea are an over hyped bunch of piss stained fairies - and sit back for the enraged callers to ring in & kerching there's the money for the station & presenters - its almost as if the mantra to the presenters is, the more irritating you are the more we'll pay you - only ever listen to it for commentary & even that's tiresome

It used to be a good station many many years ago when they were the first real sports station. However they have got cocky and the pathetic drivel they spout is just to wind people up and sensationalise any topic, usually playing a good cop bad cop routine and they never give calllers who disagree with them any airtime to get their views across.

I hate the station now and rarely bother, but I do tune in once in a while as I am on the road for hours at a time. I dont usually last more than 10 mins before changing channels.

by lets all have a disco
I listen in the mornings but what gets tiresome to me is Brazil and Irani laughing about how much money they make how i dont know and always trying to blag free weekends on yachts etc they then hook up with that finance fella and have a right old chuckle about everyone else struggling.

Does my swede in.

Talkshit - the only station that has thick ex-cricketers posing as football pundits.

White Van Man Radio, or better put Broken Britain on radio.

NIgel,

I was just gonna ask that. I listen to TS purely because I don't know of any other stations that talk footy most of the time.

Are there many others? Before 9am an around 5pm for the drive to work & back?

if scum win its a love fest also celtic for brazil if they both lose, its ignored as was celtics defeat v kilmarnock in the scottish league cup final.

If you check the radio front, there is a special little gizmo on mine. yours probably has one too. Not sure where it is, but it will be there.
I use it regularly and it removes all the irritating nonsense spouted by any of the fuclers.
IT'S CALLED THE OFF SWITCH.....

If you have a newish radio, tuned into the Talkshite frequency, there is another little gizmo, it's called the ON switch. DO NOT TOUCH IT.

Problem solved.

The fucking idiot can't even make his mind up who his favourite team is. Anyone from Stretford, Bolton, West Ham and the real Munchens. Tells you all you need to know about the fawning sycophant.

This 100%. The only ones who take themselves seriously as football pundits/analysts are Keys & Gray. Frankly, Ted, I'm astonished that you fall for it.

This thing about talksport being intentionally irritating and controversial in order to prompt people to call in and generate income is a myth imo.

They take 60/70 calls a day, top. Even at a generous average of £3 a pop (it's 50p a minute I believe), it's peanuts.

They operate in the manner in which they do because they target a certain audience - simpletons. Those that aren't bright enough to see it for what it is and those who want the sensationalism and over substance approach that they find in the newspaper they buy.

It's not about the calls mate, they generate interest (or anger, dependingon your persuasion) which creates more listeners.

How often are their adverts aired and how many times are their sponsors mentioned? That's where they make their money.

It's not just to get people to call in. If people bang on about how annoying it all is in internet message boards they get free publicity, more listeners and higher advertising revenue. They are the shock jocks of British sport and a dogshit radio station.

You're both bag on re knock on effect of it, it's just that so many people talk about the money generated by callers yet the maths tell you that revenue from callers would barely pay for Brazil's bacon rolls.

It is trailer trash radio. I too am surprised that Ted persists with it. He's a bright lad but he has been decrying the quality of that radio station for years yet keeps going back for more.

Listening to Talksport is the equivalent of reading the Sun or the Mirror. They're all full of shit.

You really have to question the intelligence of anyone who regularly listens to that station or reads those newspapers.

That might be harsh, but it's true.
