Temp England Manager

As Euro 2012 draws ever nearer, it looks increasingly unlikely that England will have a permanent manager in charge. (Surely such an appointment would already have been made.) This leaves open the possibility that someone will be approached to take the job for just the tournament in the first place. This could be someone who is the manager of a club doing the job as a one-off thing. I've drawn up a list of candidates who have either declared an interest or who I imagine the FA would like to approach. Who would you go for?

Hoddle is still away with fairies from what I saw the other day, banging on about fate to the point of embarrassment.

Arry, if not named the day after the season ends will probably want the summer off, if he takes it at all.

Pardew, I would like to see but he deserves his summer off.

SGE would love to fleece the FA one more time, but Goldstein won't let that happen.

Hodgson, likable enough and would make the inevitable early exit more palatible.

Pep unless we have overlooked him as next perm England manager, I don't think he will bother.

So Pearce it will be then!!

I fancy Glen Hoddle (not in 'that' way ) as I'd like to see John Terry as a spastic 'libero' .

Edit: We've got no chance of winning the thing so we might as well have a fucking laugh.

They should get a guest manager in for every game and open it up to a phone vote.

A few weeks before the initial game vote for who you want in charge for that game, then at full time lines open for the next match.

Candidates could have PM style debates about the tactics they'd use, make us false promises just like real politicians, etc. Also when we crash out in the quarters the public will have no one but themselves to blame and the red tops will have to turn on the general public causing chaos in the streets.

Put it on ITV1 primetime, get Simon Cowell involved, proceeds can go to developing young English talent and paying the winning candidate's wage and bonus if we win his/her game.

I see no other way forward.

went for Pardew, deffo the better choice, providing that Sven already failed.
not sure if he's up to destroy his managerial reputation, as invariably happen to any gaffer onto that driving seat.
Unless the International Finals would took place 45+ days after the end of the English season every England manager is doomed to fail.
p.s. I have waived the "others (state who)" option cause Brendan rodgers has already stated he is aiming to build up his career rather than thrashing it (talking about the Chelsea bench, tbf)

We should play 5 games with different mangers, but no one knows who the manager is. We then vote for the best team/performance and whoever was managing that game gets the job.

Or the fans could vote on tv for the team & tactics, then pick which manager to blame it on when they are shit.

Liking that - make it a premium rate number for the voting and Wembley would soon be paid for.

Maybe they are leaving it so late to get that new manager bounce you usually get for a few games. We could be in the final before they remember they are supposed to be hopeless.
