Unbelievable piece (on so many levels.)
FFS, we made this guy our captain so he could be the City player he's talking about in this article, a legend, a talisman,
and what does he do? Refuse to follow the manager's instructions, throw a hissy fit and then run off to Argentina for 5 months.
Has this guy simply had a nervous breakdown?

Would like to hear what Mancini says about this.

Bottom line, if the words and intentions are real, then fucking unbelievably buzzing.
And if it comes out he has had some sort of mental breakdown, under the pressure of being the main man at the most successful
club in Europe in the next 10 years, then completely forgiven, imho.
Smashing in a couple against the rags tonight would be a good start..

It's a very positive story deliberately released today, well done City. Irony is that he was making it known his family were happy here before the fall out. The fall out was clearly him being upset at being on the bench in the first place but he wasn't fit either physically or mentally after his summer exploits and missing that penalty. Couple this with Kompany's description of his thorough preparation for each and every game and it sounds like he was probably totally exhausted and that the break may actually have been needed for him to continue at his best. That being so, it would be inaccurate to say his absence cost us the title if we don't win it but his return may indeed clinch it for us. I didn't think I would be saying this but I now hope he does stay...

Presumably done through a translator?

Everyone can change their mind and if this is all true then it has to be good news but what footballers say and what they do are not always in tune!

Cant see how we would replace Tevez if we wanted to so if he stays and is committed to the project then brilliant but he will need to stick with this type of interview for a while yet and getting involved with the Disability Sport project certainly helps!

Nobody seemed to pick it up, but mancini in his press conference alluded to him staying, he said "i think we will see the best of carlos next season"

I was about to moan about another Tevez article released on derby day, but it has a positive spin, so I guess it's alright.

The question is tho, how will he feel in November? Is Manchester then shit again? Another transfer request in Dec? Even if his intentions are genuine, he may be a liability still.

And what about Kia? How does he figure into this? I don't know what to think anymore.

I don't trust him or believe a thing he says and I never will. Quotes or not. I still hope he stays because we can't replace him.

However I do want him to do well and would fucking LOVE a 96th minute winner tonight.

Reading a recent interview, it's apparent that the bloke had basically had enough playing football. I think the walkout to Argentina was not just a walkout from City, he was walking out on KJ & football as well.

He was being pushed to sign for Milan or Inter by his gangster mate & going through the motions but what he actually wanted to do was pack it in. He said it was always his plan to play until 28 then knock it on the head. Whilst he was over there, he's realised, after a break, that he wants to play, & has rediscovered a love for the game. He's probably never actually played for any team without KJ telling him he was engineering a move elsewhere, & thus never felt part of anything, just worked hard for the money.

Perhaps the fact that he walked out on KJ & that his transfer value dropped, has persuaded KJ to let him go ? Or the Sheikh may have persuaded KJ to let him go !

Whatever the moral indignation surrounding the whole sordid business, we cannot sign a better player than Tevez & our chances for the next few seasons have just increased dramatically. He could also play on for years if he wanted to imo.

No it's different.

But a few things he mentions in that interview hint at it. He's big on the fact that we are becoming a 'team'. He also mentions that he was 'down' when he was away from here but now he's back he feels better (quite a change) & re fitness says he 'threw away six months'.

Interestingly he says tonight's game is the most important he has ever played in, especially because of his own recent situation.

He said the same last summer, and the summer before that. Result was higher wage demands the first time (threatening to leave) and actually leaving the second time.

Lets get rid this summer cause we all know what will happen in autumn regardless of summer comments.
