Not sure it deserves a thread of its own but the comment below from rag cafe at 5 mins after the end of the game, made me grin from ear to ear as it sums up the mood of all the Irish utd fans I know. It's like a 'suckthelivinglifeoutofme' ray gun has cut them all down, they are running around looking desheveled, disorientated and completely and utterly pissed off, it's magnificent!

Have received four messages from Utd fans. One was intentionally funny, the rest saying City were by far the better team and thoroughly deserved.

My RAG mate took fully 24 hours to text 'not over yet mate'. Nothing else, no greeting, LOL. Mind you in the morning I did text him the one about Joe Hart being in training Tuesday - you only get the day off if you had to play the night before!

I've been reading redcafe over the past week. Given that the teams are still level on points and we've the harder fixtures, I'm surprised by how contrite so many of them are on there.

Most seem to think we're the better side, have played the better football and deserve the title. I really expected much more vitriol than I've seen.

I think they know we fucked up to give them a chance, and deep down for all the bluster, if you speak to a rag who can get past throwing one line insults or repeating song lines theyve heard on the telly, the rest pf them have been pretty magnanimous and can see that their side is definately punching above its weight.

What's interesting for me now, are the suggestions that they need to go out and spend 100m. Would that be a spending spree, or would that then be okay now that we have already ruined football. My concern is that there really could be no value in the market this summer....although i am starting to think we may have our business wrapped up already.

yes I noted that. Like 100m is a tenner sort of thing. double standards once again, but its amusing now. It will be interesting where they find this money, or perhaps newscorp will lend it to them, interest free, so they can finally all wank each other off and buy sneijder

Probably is, and in a fair and balanced world "Financial fair play" should be in place to stop them spending money that isnt theirs. But we all know that isnt the case. They can carry on being a financial basket case because they sell lots of shirts in malaysia. A few years of not winning will soon test this particular financial model. Will be nearly as interesting to watch as the actual football

I loved this comment yesterday (f365) after it was noted in the press that we were favourites to sign Hazard now and that United would turn to Gylffi Sigurdsson

"So no Hazard, but we can have Gylffi Sigurdsson instead. That's a bit like being a kid at christmas and getting a diary/socks instead of the xbox you'd been asking for, functional but uninspiring and not particularly exciting. Normally you'd pretend its just what you've been waiting for and make happy, to avoid seeming like an ungrateful d*ck. But to be clear from the start so there are no misunderstandings, Fergie, you can stick your Gylfi Sigurdsson right up your blinker. If we can't afford anybody good at the moment, save up the pennies and wait for next year, or sell some of the absolute sh*t/old/injured players that we are still paying a wage to. The last thing we need right now is more, moderately above average chaff that will be forced on us for the next 5 years, a la Ji Sung Park/Michael Carrick/Ashley Young/EMO/Nani/Anderson."

Most of the Salford fans that I work with are pretty realistic about their team and pretty much shitting it about next season regardless of what happens this year.

Docherty talks of Gollum being the next manager in a few years because of his experience of working on a tight budget! WHo is he to comment, I don't think he has any role at the Swamp these days but its an interesting point. Maureen wont take over if he has to work with the shite they have their now and who among the other high profile managers would want to work there with BF looking down from an office upstairs.

Salford fans who have seen both games with City look at players on our bench who would make their starting 11 and at their starting 11 who would not make our bench!

They reckon £200m is what they need to spend to bring back some world class players to the club.

Some see the floatation on the Asian stock exchange as their salvation but don't realise that the money raised from that does not go into the club but directly to the current owners!

The Glazers know how to milk the club properly, they won't see a need to re-invest cos the club failed to win the league, they would only be concerned about a failure to qualify for the champions league, which produces a significant portion of their revenue. They'll keep giving Taggart his £25m a year to buy a player and keep the masses happy with the idea that there moving forward.

It amazes me how they've borrowed £500m+ to buy the club, taken an additional £500m+ out of the club to pay for it and the outstanding loan is still in the £400m+ range. Reminds me of the one of opening scenes of Ghostbusters when they mortgage Ray's family home 3 times over and Igor tells them that they need $300,000 just to meet the interest payments.

Just to play devil's advocate here on the Glazers and money, their debt could be temporary and this could be just a skint phase they are having to suffer.
I have often flagged up where I think football is going on a global scale, Platini in the big chair at FIFA and Dr Evil Rumminigge into the smaller chair atUeFA, sat behind him. The deal is that KHR will have his hand up Platini's jacket and will be working him and his every move.

The old G14 is very much alive and kicking and with extra power via the ECA. The already work Platini and there is little he can do about it. They will continue to work Platini and as now, have the dominant number of people on the FIFA policy committees. They and their cronies will effectively control Global football, it policies and mostimportantly...it finances.

The rags will have their slice, so big that their debt will be crumbs and paid off with plenty to spare to buy who they want and gragthe Glazers' failing other businesses back into the black.

Yet for some reason, no other fucler seems to be interested. This is the game that you will hope to hold dear in the future, long after I have popped my footie boots...and noone gives a toss.....

Amazed of Manchester.

They borrowed 500m to buy the club on the basis that the club would pay it back! I tried the same thing, tried to get the local HSBC to give me the money to buy Sainsburys on the basis the company would pay them back but they wouldn't have it for some reason...

Thanks...sob....Roger....sob....thank you again....

If we don't get inside that gate and there plenty of powerful figure in football who still want us outside, then all we have worked for is for nothing.
...and whilst many will simply say..."Our owners will have something sorted about this", there are no guarantees.
