I got Samir today. Just wanted to share the good news.
It's my first album since the 1986 WC in Mexico.

Picture or it's not true. ;-)

Last time I did one was the 1978 World Cup. I got all the Holland squad, which I was very proud of.

Got them for free with my morning paper (I guess subscribing to one of those makes me a dinosaur, though).

Brilliant thread.

I had a sticker album a couple of years ago and I got loads of stick (excuse the pun) over it. My mates were like, what are you doing, you’re in you’re 30s. I went onto explain that as a kid, I could probably manage to get 10 packets a week tops, back then it was 10p a packet and I never managed to fill the books as i just didn’t buy enough packets as I didn’t have the money. Every spare 10p was used on a packet of stickers, really happy times.

I said as an adult I could buy as many packets as I wanted and was a regular for a few weeks at the local shop buying loads. Saying that I still did not complete the bloody thing......:-)

Can anyone remember the Beano sticker album now that was the dogs. My all time favourite.

You can order the ones your missing, but that's cheating.
I doubt I will find anyone to swap doubles with, though.

Finished my first album ever about 3 years ago. Got down to the last 30 stickers but didn't send off for them, didn't need, just knowing I'd paid my dues in the newsagent at the end of my road week in/week out was enough. I was 22.

Thought about keeping the tradition alive the following year but the stickers went up to a stonking 50p a pack! A scandal.

A few lads at work, also in their 20s, completed their albums this year, keep them on their desk at work, a symbol of pride! Might have to join in for Euro 2012!

Think they were merlin when i was young.

Used to be 35p a packet. One season i just couldn't fucking get Neville southall and then i was playing football on the bowling green in hollyhedge park with my cousin and a random kid come over and wanted to play and he had like 12 Neville southall's for swaps and i got one off him. I used to grab the books that came with 10 packets of stickers at the start of the season in fourbouys and fucking leg it.

Happy days.

I got Saladin already, but would be interested in Safadin. Am also only a sticker or tow away from completing the Knights Hospitaller.

That's actually quite funny.

Sadly by the time I was old enough for money to buy this stuff it was all rugby and basketball cards over here.

That's the only one I did. Big silver team badges! I only needed Trevor Brooking and Charlie George. Strange how I remember that.
