Absolutely agree! All they had to do was paint black stripes on the bottle.

They were never interested trivialities like winning individual games no matter who it was against. They essentially bought us as one giant marketing tool. People think that we are spending massive amounts of money, and in football sense we are, but when you hink that want maximum marketing exposure possible I don't think there are many things better than "best football team in the world". Spending hundreds of millions when you reach billions (and I'm not exaggarating here) isn't really that big of a deal.
Most important thing for them is that the Club is seen in positive light. Win, lose or draw. They want to keep strong ties to community and fans but that is because we have positive image of being supporter friendly club with strong roots. And don't get me wrong, I'm not giving them shit here, quite the contrary, it all serves purposes of us as supporters and them as owners. There is no downside for anyone. Same as why they are making us succesfull. We need to be biggest in the world to get full marketing exposure yet we also get to enjoy the success as fans.
When you think that according to some statistics there were over 800 million people watching the Derby live throughout the world, you kind of start to understand why they are doing it. How else can you reach 800 million people at a time in this world?

For all this professional, promotional attitude though, the inevitable has happened; they have caught the bug.
Turn your minds back to Khaldoon & Sheikh Mansour at the Liverpool game & the brief moment where the Sheikh gave in to his emotions with a sharp intake of breath as City almost scored, then the composed, polite applause when they did.
Contrast that to Khaldoon's snarl of emotion & Uwe stlyle fist pumping uppercut salute as the goal went in v the rags. Fantastic. Or fan-tastic, as that's what he has become. I bet he finds himself talking economics with Obama & his mind briefly drifting to whether we need better backup for Gael Clichy.

Never touch the stuff myself, it's basically a sugar syrup which is a nightmare for diabetes!

Thing is, I don't even feel the need to rise to that anymore. Not so long ago I'd have defended us, but I just treated him like the imbecile he was instead and ignored him.
As the article alludes to, I used to wish them bankrupt, out of league, finished. Now, I just don't care. In fact, I'd quite like watching them finish second to us in everything, as that would hurt more than the years of obscurity we went through.
