Best fullback in the league

Edit: I'd go as far as to say he's been our best player this year.

Can' agree - thought Zabs was too slow and caught in possession too often, Clichy was convincing.

Yaya must lose at least .5 for falling over like a twat when one on one lol. Who was pulling their hair out when that happened?

OK my ratings are as follows:

Hart - 6.5 - One good save but that was only because Clichy closed down the shot and then collected Joe's spill. His distribution was poor yet again today. The main positive he brought was to slow things down when he had the ball after we'd gone a goal (or two) ahead

Zabaleta - 6.5 - Not one of his best games. His score would be at least 1 full mark lower were it not for a couple of his forays up around the Newcastle area and his quality pullback which went unrewarded first half. He was off the pace both in possession and defensively. Distribution too often to no-one. Relatively (for him) poor.

Kompany - 9.0 - Not far off a 9.5 actually. What a performance that was. He dominated everyone coming near him defensively, full stop. His distribution and momentum forward when in possession were exceptionally good. His clearances (both headed and with feet) were strong, positive and dripped leadership and he was great with ball at feet driving out of defence. Almost flawless IMO.

Lescott - 7.5 - Defensively pretty good when really, really under pressure but lots of fucking nonsense whalloping the ball aimlessly upfield and inviting pressure right back onto us OR clown-esque heading the ball up in the fucking air or straight to a Newcastle player (something Vinnie virtually NEVER did). Not awful but a long way from a great performance.

Clichy - 8.0 - Not far off an 8.5 and the only reason why not is that he didn't really excel as he can going forward. Defensively he was brilliant. Got us right out of the shit on a number of occasions either being in the right place at the right time, being calm when receiving/intercepting the ball or taking it forward. Fantastique.

Barry - 7.5 - On a re-watch I imagine I may well be inclined to increase the score as (on the basis that I can't recall many instances where GB got it wrong he may have got lots right). The reason I don't score him higher is that, especially first half, he made quite a few "hot cake....get it away from me" passes which weren't great balls and also were made to teammates who were immediately put right under inevitable (ball-losing) pressure. Not great usage of the ball first half.

Yaya - 8.0 - Just for the goals and the last 30 mins. He was fucking AWFUL first half. Slow, ponderous, late to everything and half-arsed closing down both space and opposition. It was the worst of Yaya first 45 and best of Yaya last 30.

Nasri - 6.5 - Poor in general. He needs to stop slowing our attacks down to walking pace when he gets the ball in the final third. I appreciate what he can do but when he gets the ball like that he makes us VERY predictable. When he then starts to move the ball between him/Yaya/Barry/Silva/Zabba/Micah/Tevez/Aguero etc he is ace but he needs to mix it up when he comes onto the ball. That said, he grafted esp first half and his performances are steadily improving overall IMO.

Tevez - 6.5 - Hmmmm, OK, great workrate looking for the ball but he and Aguero together and individually today IMO a bit off colour. Not awful but a long way from the level he can turn in.

Aguero - 6.0 - Like Tevez but less hard work and with a worse first touch and less sharpness. Great ball for Yaya falling on his arse for no reason and then again for Yaya's second though. Maybe a 7 if I was feeling kind but fuck him, I'm not.

Silva - 8.5 - Fantastic again today. Clever, sharp elbowed little bastard. Mostly at the heard of everything good we did before the goal.

Subs

Nigel - 8.0 - This fucker had better sign a new contract as he is a BIG part of this new City. He was great again. He has been since Xmas or maybe longer. We all love him and he helps lubricate the machine in tough games like today. Viva El Nigel

Dzeko - "I don't know" - He would get a shit score but his touch in the lead up to Yaya's first was integral to that move. Other than that he passed the ball into touch a couple of times and ambled about a bit too much when he should have chased down. He was OK, but if we hadn't have scored when we did I think I'd have given him a 5.0. As it is.....5.9

Micah - 6.9 - Just for the arse-block

Roberto - 9.0 for not fucking about with the team and timing the subs right

Platty - 9.1 - for the celebration alone

OK who said Ant could post when clearly he isnt in a good enough mood?

6.5 for Joe is a bit cruel I would say.7.5 minimum even though I agree re his distribution
7.5 for Zaba as well.Just love the man but not his best today.never quite gets the last bit right when attacking
9.5 for Vinnie just awesome
8.5 Lescott imperious.best defender for many games but 2nd to Vinnie today
8.0 Clichy agreed.Grown massively through the season
7.0 Barry not as good as v Scum but still integral in the way we play and the rest love playing with him
8.5 Yaya disagree re the awful 1st half.Part of why we dominated so much but that attacking role wowow
8.0 Silva looking good again and a real threat today
7.0 Nasri another not at his best today but still part of the dominance
7.0 Tevez as Nasri.fancied him for the key goal today but thats next Sunday
7.0 Aguero nobody gets less than 7 in todays performance.Strangely a poor 1st touch too often but once a game opens up he os awesome like Yaya and helped set two goals up.That burst for the Yaya miss was exceptional.

Nigel was good after a couple of early iffy moments and Edin looked up for it as well. Mancini up there with Vinnie. Not just for getting them playing so well but all the interviews and stuff where he has constantly batted things back.

These pressure games are sorting the men from the boys, Aguero in particular is struggling in them. He is still young and inexperienced in such games though and I think it is very noticeable that Mancini has kept him on the pitch to give him the maximum experience of these situations and I am sure we will see a different Aguero in high pressure games in the future.

Aguero was poor 1st half but so was Yaya. Both are dangerous bastards though!

I'm just giving everyone an 8. Fuck it.

Yaya was on the leash first half. What makes him such a giant is how he responded to being let off it.
