Whatever happens tomorrow

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Whatever happens tomorrow

Postby ant london » Sat May 12, 2012 1:30 pm

(...and clearly I'm hoping there is a fantastic ending to this story).....I was just thinking this morning that when I eventually hopefully have kids, I'm now going to genuinely be able to regale them with tales of "the great City team of 2011-12".

It now looks very likely that I'll be able to imbue my kids with a blue identity actually in the knowledge that I should hopefully be setting them up for at least a good bit of enjoyment and potential success in their lives.

But, when the dust settles....and the years have passed.....who do you think you would rave on about from this current side in 20-30 years time? Whose name will potentially endure like Bell and Summerbee......will there be someone a la Doyle who we all think back whistfully of. A hero in the background; a Neil Young of our era?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Pablo Zabaleta is one name that fans of the current side will long remember. I can see Pablo staying here for another 3-4 years and continuing to do what he does best.

Whatever happens tomorrow though, it's been a privilege to see this side play in sky blue.

I think there are some great contenders for names that will last long in the mind, but what about you lot?

Kompany, Hart, Kun (hopefully he makes his career here), Silva and the great Yaya plus Zabaleta. This is a very good team. Lol.

vinnie and joe for me.

I think it will depend who stays on for the long term, but I'd like to think that those pair will.

In many years time we'll be wondering why Vincent Company didn't get any England call-ups.

There are loads of them and also the way Mancini has dealt with the evil empire in recent times is stuff of legends.

That's why it's a top team.

The obvious Hart's Yaya's Aguero's & Silva's have the Zabba's & Lescotts too. And what about Clichy ?

Imo lots have shown those kind of legendary qualities at different times & I think the great City team of 2012 will become the start of the great City team of the next few years anyway, when people like Hazard & Cavani are added to the mix. This is the beginning.

had already started calling him "Sir Cheat"... I can see Your point, that's not enough... but I reckon it reflects him quite soundly.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

and on topic: I endorse Beefy, Vinnie is class act, a worth addition to Mancunian soul, so it will be probably him the epitome of this generation of City winners.
still, since now at least, the most influential player of the squad has been Yaya: imo he is this generation's Colin Bell.
Since now, from the FA last two games up to Newcastle last week, any time this City have needed to climb the last cliff, Yaya has been the one who stepped up.

Am I reading into this right that yr fearful yr swimmers might have some issues? Try boxers instead of tighty whiteys as a first step.

Interesting.

Sorry Ant but that 20-30yers time thing made me chuckle too.

I woke up today feeling rough and thought...That's a bonus, I woke up!
If this level of stress continues with City being successful, I may have difficulty lasting another 20-30 hours...
I hate you smug young bastards....:-)
