And after the title was claimed, its time to recall some of the drivel written by the ex and current United crew in the media over the past few months. Some belters here that were stored away ready for the end of the season ....

We start with Beckham and his City have no chance opinion. Err, wrong cretin.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... title.html

Here's Chris Smalling with his "City will Crumble under United Pressure" piece - quite ironic really given United coughed up an 8 point lead with 6 games to go, the largest choke in Premier League history of you are scoring at home
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... ed-crumble

Johnny Evans chimed in too with another pearler about City getting nervous down the stretch run - lol!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... ter-united

Ex-Red legend Captain Injury warbled on as well, not wanting to miss out and questioned City's "bottle" - you couldnt make this up its that good
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Ma ... 81847.html

And my own personal favourite, Ashley Young telling us about Title Winning Experience - go on then Ashley, run me through your title victories and medals you dickhead
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/As ... 92351.html

These are just a selection but given what transpired its priceless stuff.

I particularly enjoyed all those stories that proclaimed that players only signed for City for the money and not to win things.
But even better were the ones that announced that players went to the swamp for the trophies.....

...WHAT FUCLIN TROPHIES ARE THEY THEN?

Sat on the train, reading the articles, twitter, texts from mates Facebook comments have stirred me up so much since we were rightly proclaimed champions

One thing that has begin to surface since we won the title is how much the scum love to hate city rather than analyse their own teams horrible performances at points this season, and just how classless they are

We all know that them banging on that they don't hate city and their biggest game is Liverpool was a load of crap but to see that from so many at first hand puts a smile on my chops

Case in point on the train this morning some daft cow was banging on how the scum lost the title rather than city winning it, how they were ravaged by injuries and how they will get it all season until they win it back next year

Got some news for you love the blue side of Manchester is going to be dominating for years to come so you should remember this moment as the day the tides changed

Frustration vented!

Ps mods feel free to move this if needs be, tried to start a thread but couldn't off my iPhone

My favourite was when Rio Ferdinand said they would have the title sorted long before the last 5 matches.in fact these blokes are trotted out every now and again yet get space in the press for total non event stuff.

Spot on mate. They have tried hard, they were graceful on the day only to avoid an avalanche of abuse, but they are starting to crack under the weight of city having had 3 days as champions of england and the bitterness and bile is slowly starting to seep out.

Ive had some really nasty stuff sent my way today by the same people whi were being gracious the other day.....and i havent even given it the big un yet

Fuck knows how they will manage if it lasts more than a year.

I turned it off for that reason we become champs in their anniversary year and all they want to talk about is the fucking rags.

In the coming months and years we will really start to see just how duplicitous the media are. For years Newcastle and particularly Keegan and his "love it" rant have been singled out for ridicule after blowing a 12-point lead in January. A far more gobby, arrogant club & manager have just failed even more spectacularly at the final hurdle, with their words here for all to see. Can we expect similar derision from pundits and journalists in the coming years?

I've seen the argument that United would have never been near us if it weren't for Taggart, but in the season before the "love it rant," Newcastle finished 16 points behind the Rags. I wasn't following football then but was Newcastle really a pre-season title favorite? I wouldn't have thought so, yet they've been made to be a laughing stock in the years since.

I guess I'm just sickened by the cowardice shown by the punditry even in the face of a defeated, demoralized United. Although I really detest David Hirshey (snidey little Arsenal-supporting football writer for ESPN over here), I liked what he wrote in the wake of Sunday's win:

The agony that United once brought to Bayern Munich in the dying moments of the 1999 Champions League final was repaid to the title holders with interest. (And I am personally offering a $100 reward to the first reporter who asks Fergie to his face, "What's it like to lose an eight-point lead and finish as runner-up?" Should that reporter fail to live to hear his response, I promise to transfer those funds to his next of kin -- or for that matter, Kun.)

To be fair to Fatboy, there's no actual quote there about winning the league at our place.

He was silly to even be talking about us though with Wigan and Everton still to come.

The Tevez RIP poster made a few rags crack today

"I know you deserve to win but that Tevez poster was fucking out of order, that shit could start a riot"

Errrrrrrrrrrr a riot how exactly?!!? 100,000 City fans vs 0 united fans?

When I found the article "not in my life time" and explained what irony was, said rags soon um'd and arr'd and went quiet again.
