Couldn't find this elsewhere but why has he been given an extension to appeal his charge? Why haven't they just charged him we saw it he admitted it on twitter why does he need a hearing he's guilty as charged

Not sure, surely his Twitter comments bring the game into disrepute?

I think that, as has been mentioned, the powers that be have no option but to investigate his comments baring in mind the precedent set by the Roy Keane affair. This is no different.

So he has 3 red card offences at once, failure to leave the pitch, and presumably this extra charge.

His career as a footballer will be finished. His only option will be to work for Tony Pulis.

I don't even know why he's still allowed to play football, let alone the fact that clubs want him. It just shows, you can take a child out of the war, but you cannot take a Joey Barton out of a Joey Barton.
