It's been 9 years and we've won the league their now. Does it feel like home?

Almost. Although I regularly flick through Gary James's excellent 'Farewell to Maine Road' with a tear in my eye. It didn't matter that we were shit there - that place was my childhood.

It absolutely feels like home, but it's not got the same feel as the previous home.

I think it does feel like home and Sunday just capped it all off!! We have officially settled in now, and it will make us even stronger!

Almost and last Sunday it was closer still, there seemed to be many more flags and banners knocking about. This was probably down to the circumstances surrounding the game but the stadium did look really good. More of this next season and a bit more blue on the outside should do the trick.

Good points about Sunday: we've actually won a trophy in this home now.

Agree with this. It's like comparing a new dog to your last one (as long as the previous one wasn't put down for mauling your kids or summat).

We won one in our new home last season as well ;)

I miss Maine Road but the Etihad is beginning to gain my affections season by season

It does feel like home now. The atmosphere is really getting going at long last and it's easy to be nostalgic about maine road. It was great, and it was some of the happiest afternoons of my childhood, but it was a dump. (probably the best dump in the world).

Well I havent posted much since the epic end to the season, time just hasn't allowed it.
For me as a 33 year old life long City fan from worcestershire, I never made more than a handfull of home games each season when growing up. The cost to do so for my parents was simply to much, we did manage to make a few away games each year too. This made it feel very special for us as it really was a treat, and of course each time the hairs on the back of my neck would be on end. Then as you grow up and start to get money for yourself, I could make a few more games. Then came along the new ground and along with it a new sence of expectations, maybe more so from other fans and pundits then us as deep down we will always be typical City.
Its taken a few years for us to feel like we should be there I feel, and with all the ups and downs we have had other things to think about. Now we have a new feel in allways, finaly the home seems to fit better. Bigger games, bigger expectations, bigger belief and so only right we have the bigger stadium.
The new management and amazing backers have finaly turned the home of City into a place every team knows will be a battle, and so the fans can now let go and make sure the away fans can hear that too. I hope we can build on this and try to get a better and more frequent atmosphere.

My only problem was and will be with Eastland is that imho, the terraces are a bit far. If they were just behind the goal, the pressure would had been more powerfull. However, i really think that is one of the most beautiful stadiums i've seen.
